My heels click on the floor as I walk through the venue of where the town is holding Miss Mystic Falls. I step outside where tables are set up around a dance floor and my eyes lock onto Damon's.

He's dressed in a black tux and my breath hitches in my throat, admiring his attractiveness.

"In the running for Miss Mystic Falls?" Damon asks, walking over to me with a class of champagne. I roll my eyes with amusement, and I shake my head rapidly.

"No way in hell would I ever do that. Elena is and Stefan is going to be with her," I inform him, and he knits his thick eyebrows together.

"Now, I need to tell you something. Normally I would have a different outlook, but since it can inconvenience me. I'll squeal. Stefan's still drinking human blood," Damon announces and my eyes widen.

"What? I thought he stopped," I shake my head with confusion.

"Yeah. A month ago, I would have rejoiced, but with the council on back on alert, it is not a good time for Stefan to fly off the handle," Damon comments with worry and I chew on my bottom lip.

"How bad is it?" I ask curiously, stepping closer to me.

"He has a fridge full of stolen blood bank contraband in the house. He has no idea what normal is, his entire existence isn't normal. Normal to a vampire is drinking human blood, but he spent all this time trying fighting it when he should had been learning how to control it. Now it's controlling him instead," he rambles on and my heart skips a beat.

I open my mouth to speak, but my eyes lock onto Stefan as he walks up to us. "What's going on?" Stefan asks and Damon turns around, facing him.

"Just filling Sam in on your extracurricular activities," Damon teases and Stefan stares at his brother in confusion.

"I know about the blood, Stefan. Were you going to tell my sister any time soon?" I shrug my shoulders and he lets out a tiny scoff.

"I'm fine," Stefan raises his voice sternly and I gulp, raising an eyebrow at his words. I place my hands on my hips and I nod my head.

"Tell me then...just how well you can handle it," I mumble out, squeezing the on the glass, breaking a piece off. Stefan's eyes widen with worry and Damon furrows his eyebrows, stepping towards me with concern.

I poke the shard into my pointer finger and it draws a drop of blood, breaking my skin. I hold out it towards Stefan and the veins start to form underneath his eyes. His mouth is practically watering for an inch of blood.

He clears his throat and disappears, leaving only a whoosh of the wind behind him. "What was that?" Damon asks, stepping in front of me and snatching my finger with anger. I let out a tiny scoff and shake my head with confusion.

"He's clearly not okay, Damon! He can't even control himself around one drop of blood," I point out as Damon takes his handkerchief and wraps it around my finger.

"I know, Sam! I know, Samantha," he repeats with a soft voice, tucking the handkerchief put into his suit.

By the time the Miss Mystic Falls Winner is announced, the sun has already gone down and darkness has settled in.

I lean against the wall, holding a glass full of white wine and Damon marches over to me, stress written all over his face. He grabs onto my wrist and leads me over to Elena, her blue dress poking out.

"There was signs of a struggle upstairs in the bathroom. There was blood and that Amber girl is missing," Damon informs her with a quick voice.

"Oh, my God. He wouldn't hurt her. He won't," Elena reassures him, her voice shaky and full of worry.

"We'll find him. Come on," I tilt my head, taking the lead outside the house. Suddenly a high pitched scream rings out from the woods and I snap my head towards the sound. Two figures can be seen in the dark woods.

Damon, Elena, and I sprint towards them, my eyes locking onto Stefan as he bites into Amber's neck deeper.

"Stefan!" Elena calls out as Amber drops onto the ground, blood running down her neck and onto her shirt.

"Stefan. Come on. Get control. Breathe through it, man," Damon tries to comfort him, slowly walking up towards him. Stefan suddenly grabs onto Damon and throws him away. My eyes widen as Damon flies through the air for a moment, but easily lands on his feet.

"Stefan, stop it!" Elena shouts loudly, her voice full of fear. Stefan starts grabbing onto his head and grunts full of agony. I glance over my shoulder at Bonnie, her eyes focused on Stefan and she lets out a deep breath.

Stefan's eyes meet Elena's and his jaw drops open, blood dripping down it. I grimace with disgust and he backs away, running into the woods.

"Come on, let's get you home," Damon suggests, walking over to me. I lower my head with shame and follow behind him.

"I'm worried about him. He's losing it," I whisper and Damon stops in his tracks. He turns around and his blue eyes gaze into mine as he chews on his bottom lip.

"I know," he sighs out, a frown forming on his face.
