"I'm going to kill you even if it's the last thing I do."

The full moon hangs high in the sky and goosebumps form along my arms. Elena has already gone to the sacrifice, and she wanted me to stay here.

I perk up my head, my eyes catching sight of Stefan jogging towards me. He stops in front of me, his eyes laced with concern and I lower my eyebrows with confusion.

"He has Jenna," Stefan announces and chills run down my spine. My jaw drops open and I shake my head with denial.

"No," I whisper underneath my breath, my eyes endlessly staring at the ground.

"I'm going to go there and make a deal. I'll make a trade, me for her," Stefan reveals and my palms become sweaty.

"You think he'll take you? Elena would never let that happen and you know that," I scoff out, my mind going through a million thoughts a second.

"It's worth a shot," he shrugs his shoulders, whooshing into the woods. The cold wind slaps against my skin and I grit my teeth.

I glance down at Jules' dead body on the ground and I clasp a hand over my mouth, trying to quiet my gasp. Jenna's eyes meet mine and they grow wide with shock.

"Jenna!" I shout loudly, rushing over to her with concern. The fire grows larger, and I gasp loudly, stumbling back.

"Klaus, he lured out her out and killed her with vampire blood in her system," Elena explains with a shaky, fearful voice.

"Oh my God," I whimper out, my heart pounding against my chest.

"You know, I couldn't have raised Elena or Jeremy without you," Jenna starts to explain and I shake my head rapidly.

"No, you did that all by yourself Jenna, okay?" I reassure her as a mysterious man walks over.

He has to be Klaus.

"Hello Jenna," he greets her kindly and I clench my fists.

"I followed all your rules, and I did everything you asked. I didn't run. Please," Elena begs him, tears filling her eyes.

"Wait, please! I'll take her spot!" I beg him and he snaps his head towards me. My limbs go numb with absolute fear and my mind churns.

"The lovely Samantha Gilbert," Klaus chimes in with a thick British accent and glowing green eyes. I glare into his dark eyes and grimace with disgust. His menacing aura holds me in place and I try to steady my breath.

The fire around Jenna fades and her body trembles with fear. She tries to run, but Klaus grabs a hold of her and she collapses on the ground.

"Just turn it off, Jenna. You won't be scared anymore," Elena begs, sobbing quietly. Klaus raises the stake above his head and Jenna's eyes widen with fear.

The hair tinges along the back of my neck and my lips tremble. Klaus drives the stake through Jenna's heart and a cry escapes from my throat. Her body jolts and then goes limp, the grey veins running up her face.

Klaus lets out a tiny chuckle and slowly walks over to me. The hot tears stream down my face, burning my cheeks and I pant heavily.

"I'm going to kill you. I'm going to kill you even if it's the last thing I do and you won't be able to stop me," I declare through gritted teeth and he cocks his head.

Suddenly Klaus wraps an arm around my throat and tugs me into his chest. Elena's eyes widen as they meet mine and I squirm against Klaus' strong grip.

"Stop! She hasn't done anything, she's not a part of this!" Elena shouts loudly, her lips trembling.

"I can't have you getting in the way of what I want, love," he whispers into my ear and my lips tremble. He raises the stake in front of my face and the muscles of my heart tighten with an incredible force.

Klaus drives the stake into my stomach and an explosion of pain erupts. "Sam!" Elena screams loudly, dropping onto her knees and hunching over. I drop down to my knees and hold my breath.

I press my palms into the dirt and the blood streams down my shirt. Every heartbeat sent a surge of pain, as if my chest was being torn apart. A pair of strong arms lift me up suddenly and whoosh me into the woods.

Damon gently sets me down on the ground and I wheeze loudly.  I rest my head on his shoulder, his arm holding me up. His eyes dart all over my body, shaking with fear and disbelief.

"J-just hold on, okay?" Damon warns me, his voice trembling and I slightly nod my head. He brings his wrist up to his mouth and I quickly grab onto it.

"Please, don't," I mumble out, my ears ringing loudly.

"You can't just leave Elena and Jeremy without a sister, Stefan without a partner in crime, Caroline and Bonnie, and...me," Damon stutters out, his eyes filling with tears. I let out a weak chuckle, tears falling down.

"Just hold me as I lay dying," I beg him, my fingers wrapping around the fabric of his shirt. He gulps and willingly nods his head. His fingers carefully brush through my hair, pushing it behind my ear.

My eyelids become heavier, my body drains of all its energy, and my muscles become weaker. My head becomes harder to hold up on his shoulder and my breathing becomes shallow. My eyes glue onto Damon's blue orbs and my stomach churns.

If those eyes are the last thing I ever see, that'll be just fine.
