"You're supposed to be dead, just like your sister!"

I push open the door to the Salvatore mansion to find Damon standing in front of the door with his arms crossed over his face. His raven hair framing his face and a cocky grin on his face.

"Were you expecting me?" I sigh out, closing the door and walking past him. He spins around and follows me into the living room.

"Nope, Elena. I was expecting her to come crawling in begging to find the location of Stefan," Damon explains, pouring bourbon into a glass.

"She's at the high school setting up senior pranks with the others," I reply dryly, and he nods his head, taking a sip of his bourbon.

Suddenly my phone starts to ring loudly, and Damon throws back his head, a groan escaping his lips.

"Sam, you need to come now," Elena demands with a trembling voice and I lower my eyebrows with confusion.

"Come where? Elena, what's wrong?" I ask with concern, standing up from the couch. Her heavy breathing can be heard over the phone.

"I'm at the high school. Klaus...he's here with Stefan. Please, help me," she begs, and I open my mouth to say something, but the sound of the call ends and I'm left with no words.

"Let's go," Damon demands, practically leaping up from the couch and I place my hand on his chest, stopping his movements.

"I think you should stay here. If I need any help, I'll call you," I suggest, and he knits his eyebrows together.

"Why? Do you think I'm going to cause a few more deaths than expected?" he asks, stepping in and closing the space between us. My chest pounds heavily and I glance away from him.

"You do seem to cause more trouble wherever you go, Damon. Please, I'll be back," I reassure him, rushing out the front door.

I push open the door to the gym, my eyes locking onto Elena on the ground. My eyes flicker over to two dead bodies on the ground which Stefan is standing over. "Elena!" I call out with concern, rushing over to her. Suddenly Klaus appears in front of me, grabbing onto my wrist tightly and dragging me over to the middle of the gym.

"You're supposed to be dead, just like your sister!" Klaus growls out with anger and my heart skips a beat.

"Us Gilberts don't like to die," I shrug my shoulders and his glare pierces my eyes. I gulp and take a step back, trying to get out of his tight grip.

Blood drips down Stefan's lips and Elena slowly stands onto her feet, her eyes searching in his for an answer. I glance down at Tyler's body on the ground and my stomach twists into uneasy knots.

"Now since both of you aren't supposed to be alive, your witchy friend is trying to find a solution before I kill all your friends," Klaus threatens and I glare into his eyes.

"Do you remember what I said to you the last time we were face to face? It does still apply," I state through gritted teeth, and he raises his eyebrows with interest.

"Let's put a clock on your witch, shall we? 20 minutes. If Bonnie hasn't found a solution by then, I want you to feed again. This time I want you to feed on Sam and Elena," Klaus demands and my eyes widen, meeting Stefan's.

Klaus leaves the gym

"Stefan, you can control this," Elena tries to encourage Stefan and he lets out a tiny chuckle.

"You don't get it. I can't stop, Elena. I'm a ripper! A ripper doesn't stop! When that clock ticks down, I'm going to have to feed on Sam and then you. You want to know what's worse? I'm not going to be able to stop," Stefan shouts loudly angrily and I gulp.

My eyes lock onto the clock down to one minute and my heart pounds against my chest. I glance over at Elena, and she gives me a reassuring gaze.

"Elena, you need to go. Run," I demand harshly, and she shakes her head, her eyes filling with tears. Elena turns away and sprints

"Sam, please. You have to run, please. Please," Stefan begs me, dropping down onto his knees, sweat running down his forehead. I clench my fists and my lips tremble.

"I know what I have to do, Stefan. I have to protect my sister," I mumble out and he stares into my eyes. Suddenly he leaps towards me, letting out a loud shout and I gasp loudly.

His fangs dig down into my neck and a hoarse scream escapes my throat. He clings onto me tightly and pain shoots through my body. I press my palms to his shoulders, trying to rip him off of me.

The world starts to spin around as the blood drains from my body and I inhale sharply, closing my eyes.
