"What the hell do you mean she's gone?!"

My mind takes a minute to process the words that just spilled out of Damon Salvatore's mouth and my jaw hangs open. I take off my mask and drop it on the ground, running my hands over my face with frustration.

"Elena doesn't know does she?" I gasp out and Damon lowers his head with shame.

"You two weren't supposed to find out. She's already put you guys through enough hell," he comments, raising his eyebrows and I cross my arms over my chest.

"God, you are unbelievable. You really think you can kill Katherine?" I ask and he nods his head with confidence, clenching his jaw.

"Stefan doesn't want Elena a part of this and I don't want you playing any part in this. Will you please go home?" he asks, stepping towards me and places his hands on my shoulder. His eyes meet mine and they soften, giving me a kind gaze.

His fingers dig into my shoulders, and I gulp, breaking away from his eye contact. I chew on my bottom lip and a sigh escapes from my lips as I nod my head.

"Fine, but you can't keep doing things without me, Damon! I'm a part of this group and I want to help out, too. You have to promise me that you won't leave me out anymore," I demand with a firm tone and he cocks an eyebrow, his lips curling up into a smirk.

"Ok, I promise. Now go home," Damon comments, turning me around and giving me a light shove to the parking lot. I let out a tiny scoff and walk back to my car in the dark, the crickets chirping loudly.

I quickly get inside my car and drive back home. I push open the door and my eyes lock onto Jenna who's still laying on the couch.

"Hey, where did Elena go?" I ask curiously, glancing around for a sigh of my sister. Jenna lifts her up head and meets my eyes.

"Oh, she went to the masquerade party. I thought you two went together," she explains, knitting her eyebrows together with confusion. I clear my throat and put a fake smile on my face.

"Yeah, we did. Elena wanted to stay longer and I'm really tired, so...I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight, Jenna," I mumble out and she shoots me a warm smile. I head up stairs and swing open the door to my bedroom.

The color drains from my face and I freeze in place. My eyes go wide as they meet Katherine Pierce's and she cocks her head to the side, her eyes filling with darkness.

"Aren't you suppose to be dead?" I ask, my heart sinking down into my gut. I quickly close the door and she slowly walks over to me, drenched in confidence and a snarky attitude.

"Suppose to? Yes, but the Salvatores plan failed and here I am. Did you really think you would be able to kill me, Samantha?" Katherine asks through gritted teeth, wrapping her fingers around my throat and slamming my body into the wall.

A grunt escapes my throat as she squeezes it slightly, glaring into my eyes. "Wait! I didn't know," I plead, latching onto her wrist and trying to tug her hand off my throat.

"Go on," she demands, loosening her grip and I inhale sharply, my body slightly relaxing from the tension.

"Elena and I had no idea what everyone was planning, okay? I just went there, and Damon told me. Elena and I weren't a part of that," I explain with a panicked voice, breathing heavily.

Katherine lets out a quiet hum and slowly backs away from me, letting go of my throat. "She's gone," she announces and my chest pounds. I raise an eyebrow with interest and confusion, shooting her a firm glance.

"What the hell do you mean she's gone?!" I raise my voice and Katherine clenches her jaw.

"Your idiot of a sister wasn't supposed to show up, but you, you I was expecting. I had one of my friends take her of her," Katherine explains with a carefree tone and I let out a scoff full of anger.

"Where is she?" I ask, my heart pounding against my chest. She throws back her head and lets out a wryly giggle.

"That's for me to you and you to...dot, dot, dot," she giggles out and I clench my fists. I step forward and swing at her, but she easily catches my fist in her hand. She slowly twists back my arm and I grimace.

"I'll see you later, Samantha," she chimes in, pushing me back and disappearing out of my room.
