The crickets chirp loudly in the dead of the night as I lay bare in the bed with Damon besides me, his hand wrapped around my waist. I rest my head on his bicep and he glances down at me, a grin across his face.

Suddenly the door opens and Jeremy walks in, wide eyes instantly full of regret and I gulp.

"Jeremy, hi," I mumble out, bringing the covers to my neck.

"Rose found Mary. She lives in Kansas," Jeremy announces and I clear my throat.

"Ok, we'll meet you outside," I reassure him, and he quickly leaves the room. I let out a sigh of relief and get changed.

"This is the address," I announce, standing outside the large house. The half moon hangs high in the sky and goosebumps form along my arms.

"Looks about right," Damon sighs out, placing his hands on my hips.

"Wait here, Jeremy," I demand with a kind tone and he furrows his eyebrows with confusion.

"Why, so you guys can have more sex?" Jeremy scoffs out and my heart skips a beat.

"Don't be a dick. Listen to your sister," Damon turns towards him and Jeremy nods his head willingly.

"Who is this Mary person?" I ask curiously, shining my flashlight around the house, every inch is covered in trash or books.

"Scary Mary. Really old, super creepy," Damon comments, cocking his head to the side and I let out a deep sigh.

Suddenly a loud bang from the opposite side of the room causes me to jump and my breath shudders. Damon and I walk over to the white door and he swings it open. A woman is pinned to the wall with a stake driven deep inside her heart and a gasp escapes my lips.

"Mary," Damon calls out, standing there in disbelief.

"Quite contrary," Kol comments from behind, flipping on the light switch. My eyes widen at the sight of Kol sitting down in a chair with a metal baseball bat.

"Kol," I mumble out underneath my breath.

"Shame about Mary. She used to be blast. I don't quite know what happened. I fear all the time she spent with my family, might have ruined her. She was a bit of an Original groupie," Kol comments, glancing back at the dead body.

"Mhm, was she your favorite?" I question with annoyance and he glares into my eyes.

"You mean, did I turn her? I think I did. But, no wait, maybe it was Rebekah. There was also a Klaus moment and an Elijah affair. I talked to my brother. I know you're trying to figure out who you descended from. Now you never will. So, where did we leave off?" Kol asks, a grin on his face.

Kol slaps the bat down on Damon's leg and my eyes widen. I stumble back as Kol beats Damon onto the ground and my heart races.

"Sam, get out of here!" Damon demands through gritted teeth and I gulp, rushing over to the door. Kol appears in front of me and

"According to my brother, you're off limits. Please, don't test me," he begs, grabbing onto me and tossing me on the ground. My head slams against the bed post and the pain shoots through my head.

Damon leaps onto his feet and wraps a hand around Kol's throat, pinning him to the wall.

"Don't touch her!" Damon growls out and Kol chuckles lightly, slamming the bat into Damon's back, causing him to collapse on the ground.

"Oh, dear. I've hit a nerve. Relax, darling, I just want us to be even. You snapped my neck and killed my brother," Kol announces, slamming the bat down on Damon's back and I flinch at each hit.

Grunts leave Damon's mouth and I grimace, looking away. "There, now...we're even," Kol announces bitterly and he disappears out of the room. I breath heavily and rush over to Damon, kneeling down beside him.

I wrap my fingers around his wrist and my eyes lock onto his. "Are you okay?" I ask with concern, helping him up onto his feet. He grunts quietly and grits his teeth, nodding his head.

His eyes fill with concern and his hand reaches out, his thumb rubbing my cheek even so gently.

"You're bleeding. You okay?" Damon asks and I nod my head, bringing up my fingers to my wound. I press my fingers into the liquid on my forehead and let out a tiny whimper.

"Yeah, I've never thought I'd said this, but I just want to back to Mystic Falls," I mumble out and he nods his head, holding out his hand. I grab onto his hand tightly and interlace our fingers, heading out of the house.
