Colors of the Wind
"I can't believe I have to go to another high school dance."
"Ok, so we find him and then what? What's our plan of attack?" Elena asks as all of gather inside the Salvatore living room.
Klaus has made his first move after my sister, and we are all prepared to take him down.
"Me, I'm the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him, I can kill him,"
"That's not gonna be that easy. He is the biggest, baddest vampire around," Alaric points out, letting out a half chuckle.
"Alaric has a point," Damon speaks up and Bonnie shoots him a harsh glare.
"It doesn't matter if he's an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill, Elena. I know I can," Bonnie reassures her best friend and Elena gives her a reassuring nod.
"I can't believe I have to go to another high school dance," I mutter underneath my breath.
We all step inside the school's gym filled with high schools student.
Crowds of students fill the dancefloor and the 60's music pumps loudly in the background. I glance over at Caroline and Matt dancing in the middle with bright smiles on their faces.
"Caroline's here. She doesn't know what's going on. We have to tell her," Elena demands, inhaling sharply and Stefan bobs his head rapidly.
"I'm on it," Stefan reassures his girlfriend, disappearing into the crowd.
"What do you say?" Damon asks, a smug smirk across his face and he holds out his hand. I gaze down at his welcoming gesture and I scoff quietly, grabbing onto his palm.
"Only to pass the time," I reply harshly as he leads me onto the dance floor. He spins me underneath his arm and I let out a tiny giggle. Damon pulls me back to his chest and our eyes meet.
Our hands fiddle with each other's as we shuffle along the dancefloor and the heat rises in my face.
"You're not too bad as this," I chuckle out and he grins widely.
"I danced a fair amount in the 60's. I have some moves you've probably never seen," Damon comments, running his tongue over his bottom lip.
"Hm, I don't plan on wanting to see them anytime soon. That's my cue to leave," I mumble out, pulling away from my hands. I wonder out into the empty hallway and I hear footsteps from behind me.
I quickly spin around and face Alaric. "Hey, what are you doing?" I ask curiously.
"I just needed to get away from that dance. The 60's, ugh, not my decade," Alaric complains with disgust and I knit my eyebrows together.
"Alaric?" I call out with confusion, staring into his eyes and hoping to get an answer. I take a step back and my stomach churns.
"I am not Alaric," he states clearly and my jaw drops open. My breath becomes shaky and I clench my fists, my chest pounding.
"Klaus, you're not getting anywhere near my sister," I state through gritted teeth, slowly backing away each time he takes a step forward.
"Oh, don't worry I don't plan on hurting Elena tonight, but you on the other hand..." his voice trails off and I slip off my heel highs, gripping them tightly in my hand.
"Stay the hell away from me!" I demand, raising my voice and it echoes through the hallway. A wryly smirk forms across his face and he strides towards me. I throw one of my heels at him and he easily blocks it with his hand.
I drop my other heel on the ground and start to run away. Suddenly his hand latches onto my hair and my eyes widen, my heart skipping a beat.
His fingers wrap around my hair and slam me down on the ground. My body hits the ground with a loud thud and a grunt escapes my lips.
"What do you want with me?" I ask, gritting my teeth and Klaus cocks his head to the side, pulling out a stake from his pocket. My eyes glue onto the wooden object and my lips tremble.
"You're my distraction for the others. Now, be a good girl and do your job," he hums out, lifting the stake above his head. I pant heavily and my eyes dart nervously around the room.
"Sam!" Damon yells loudly, a good distance away. Klaus lets out a tiny hum and disappears the second Damon whooshes to my side. He kneels down beside me and I cough loudly, the weight lifting off my chest.
"Is Bonnie okay?" I mumble out weakly, sitting up and pushing back my hair.
"Yes, she's safe. Come on, let's get you home," he suggests with a kind tone, holding out his hand. I lace my fingers through his and he effortlessly pulls me onto my feet.
"Worse decade dance ever," I comment, frowning widely.
