"Hello Kitty is the solution to everything."

I swing open the front door and my jaw drops open

I swing open the front door and my jaw drops open. John Gilbert is standing in the kitchen talking to my sister. Elena snaps her head towards me and our eyes meet.

"Ah, what the hell? Please, tell me I'm having some weird nightmare," I beg Elena and she shakes her head.

"He's apparently here to protect me after you know lying to me about being my father," Elena comments sneakily and John lets out a deep sigh.

"I'm sorry I don't want my daughter around vampires, but I'm stepping up now. I want to help you," John explains with a sincere tone and I glare into his dark eyes.

"You know what, I can't stand here and listen to this bullshit. Goodbye, John, I truly hope to never see you again," I scoff out, anger pumping through my veins. I rush out of the front door and head over to my car.

I dig for my keys in my purse and glance at the reflection of a familiar woman standing behind me.

Jules. She's the one who bit Rose and killed her.

She clasps her hand around my mouth and I gasp loudly, squirming against her tight grip. I inhale a salty smell and I grimace with disgust, my eyelids becoming heavy. My bones and muscles become weak and my movements become slug-like.

My purse slides down from my arm and drops on the ground with a loud thud. My eyes roll into the back of my head and my body goes limp.

I slowly open my heavy eyelids and glance around the cell that I'm locked inside. My limbs come back to life and a tiny groan escapes my dry throat. My eyes lock onto the familiar blonde who's in the corner, covered in dry blood.

"Caroline?" I call out, blinking rapidly so my vision comes back clear. Tears run down Caroline's cheeks and my eyes widen. I glance over at the man sitting on the ground, outside the cell holding a gun.

The man aims the gun at me and my heart skips a beat. I shrink down in my figure and my chest pounds heavily.  "Wait! She's not a vampire!" Caroline raises her voice, holding out her arm in front of me.

The man lets out a tiny chuckle and lowers his gun. "Would somebody like to inform me why the hell Jules kidnapped me?" I ask, my eyes darting nervously around the RV.

"You're valuable to the Salvatores. They have Tyler and they want you," the man points out, shrugging his shoulders.

"They want Tyler to join their werewolf gang," Caroline speaks up and the man grimaces with disgust.

"I think Tyler is free to make his own decisions. Haven't you done enough damage?! You already killed one of the vampires," I spit out, chills running down my spine.

Suddenly the man pulls the trigger on the gun and the gunshot echoes loudly. A sharp, searing pain shoots through my thigh, the wooden bullet getting caught in my skin. A loud yell full of agony escapes my lips and I grit my teeth.

The man exits the RV and Caroline stares at me, her eyes full of concern. I lean my head back and close my eyes, my stomach twisting into knots. I let out a groan full of pain and I open my eyes to see Damon rushing inside.

He unlocks the hatch and lifts up the gate, letting us out. I slowly crawl out behind Caroline and Damon kneels down, wrapping his arms underneath me.

"She's okay, she only got shot once. I told them she wasn't a vampire, and they didn't listen. I'm sorry," Caroline sobs out quietly as Damon lifts me up into his arms. I rest my head against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat.

"It's okay, Caroline. It's not your fault, go home," Damon demands with a firm tone and the blondie nods her head.

Damon whooshes me back to the Salvatore house and gently places me on top of the bathroom counter. "This might hurt," he warns me, grabbing the wooden bullet and ripping it out of my thigh.

I inhale sharply and relief fills my body. Damon runs a white cloth underneath water and I grip onto the counter tightly.

"Thanks for saving me," I mumble out, the heat rising up in my face.

"I should go back there and rip out their throats for what they did to you," Damon growls out, dabbing the towel on my thigh. I wince out quietly and cock my head to the side.

"I think that would be a really bad idea. Remember how the werewolf bite is fatal?" I remind him and he pouts, placing a Hello Kitty bandage on my thigh.

My jaw drops open with disbelief and laughter escapes my mouth. "Seriously?" I scoff out and he smirks, letting out a tiny chuckle that fills my heart with happiness.

"You need a little pick me up after that whole incident. Hello Kitty is the solution to everything," Damon announces with a sarcastic tone and I roll my eyes with annoyance, hopping off the counter.

"Ok, remind me to never mention your weird obsession with Hello Kitty," I giggle, walking away from him.
