Colors of the Wind
"Oh, god! I look like a demented creamsicle."
My eyes are glued to the TV, broadcasting about the next animal attack that Mr. Tanner was the victim of. There have been a lot of those recently, I'm starting to think it's not animal attacks anymore.
I wrap a heavy blanket around me and run my fingers through my messy, tangled hair.
"Hey, you coming to the Founder's party?" Elena asks with a cheerful tone, running down the stairs in a bright orange dress. Her hair is done up nicely and her heels click on the wood floor.
I let out a deep sigh and a frown rests on my face. I throw the blanket off my body and hold out my hands. Elena lets out a tiny giggle and walks over to me, grabbing onto my hands and pulling me off the couch.
Elena drags me upstairs and into the bathroom. My jaw drops open at the sight of myself in the mirror. My hair is sticking up from every direction and my clothes are mess.
"Oh, God! I look like a demented creamsicle!" I gasp out with shock and Elena lets out a loud laugh that fills my heart with happiness. A smile tugs on my face and I playfully shove her out of the bathroom.
I quickly fix myself up and step outside the bathroom where Elena's eyes sparkle. I run my hands down my fitted dress and "Ok, who's my date?" I ask, placing my hands on my hips.
"Bonnie. I'm going with Stefan and Caroline's going with Damon," Elena replies and I nod my head with excitement.
"Great, now the whole town can assume we're lesbian lovers," I giggle out, shooting Elena a tiny wink. Elena and I head out the house, driving to the Lockwood mansion where the Founder Party is being hosted.
My eyes dart around the large crowd of people are standing around outside in nice dresses and tuxes. I spot Bonnie at the entrance and I walk up the large steps, my heels clicking loudly on them.
"Hey, lover," I greet with, slipping my arm around hers. Bonnie lets out a tiny giggle and raises her eyebrow with confusion.
"Another party full of rich stuck up people," she sighs out as we set foot inside the mansion. A waiter goes around with a plate full of glasses with champagne and Bonnie leads me into the dining room.
The dining room is surprisingly empty and Bonnie glances around. "Weird. No one is in here," I mumble out with confusion and Bonnie nods her head in agreement. I glance outside the window, seeing Stefan and Elena out on the dancefloor.
I gasp quietly as I spin back around, my eyes gazing at all the candles in the room are now lit and Bonnie stands there in shock. A tiny giggle leaves my mouth and Bonnie gazes at me with wide eyes.
"Bonnie, what's going on?" I ask, staring into the bright flames. Bonnie opens her mouth to speak, but Elena marches into the room with a worried expression on her face.
"I think Damon's hurting Caroline," she reveals, breathing heavily and my eyes grow wide with concern.
"What?" Bonnie blurts out with a loud voice, clenching her fists.
"There are bruises all over Caroline's body. Bite marks, he has her all confused and messed up in the head," she rambles on with an anxious tone and I nod my head.
"You guys need to stay here. I'll deal with this," I sigh out, marching outside. Damon stands near a fountain in the dark moonlight with a glass of champagne in his hand.
The anger pumps through my veins and he turns around facing me as I walk up to him. "Sam, what can I do for you?" he asks, a grin on his face. I glare into his blue eyes, and he tilts his head to the side.
"I know what you've been doing to Caroline and I suggest you stop before I make you regret it," I threaten him and he lets out a tiny chuckle, the fear rising in my chest.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he states with a serious tone and I roll my eyes with annoyance.
"You mean you don't know about the bruises and the bite marks? I'm not stupid, stop hurting Caroline," I scoff out before storming away from him.
