Dean and Jessica had driven back to an old house they passed on their way to go save Sam. Dean had placed his brother on an old bed. Jessica hadn't stopped crying when she entered the house. She tried to, for Dean, but it wasn't working.
Jessica took one look at Sam and covered her mouth. Sam looked pale and blue. The bruises on his face were purple now. As he laid lifeless on the bed, Jessica couldn't help but think that he was asleep. He looked so peaceful.
Jessica kept her hand on her mouth as she sobbed. She walked into the other room, passing Bobby on her way.
"You should eat something." Jessica heard Bobby say.
"I said I'm fine." Dean replied flatly.
Jessica heard a bottle hit the table. Dean was drinking again.
"Dean..." Bobby started. "I hate to bring this up. I really do. But, don't you think it's time...we bury Sam?"
Jessica got up from her seat and walked towards the two. She leaned against the wall. Her eyes were on Dean.
Dean was looking at Bobby with a flat look. "No."
"Dean—" Jessica was cut off.
"I said no!" Dean looked at her with a dirty look.
"We could—"
"What? Torch his corpse?" Dean looked at Bobby. "Not yet."
"I want you to come with me." Bobby said.
"I'm not going anywhere." Dean replied.
"Dean please." Bobby pleaded.
"Won't you cut me some slack?" Dean asked.
"I just don't think you should be alone. Either of you." Bobby looked at Jessica. She looked down at the floor. Her hair falling into her face. "I could use both of your help."
Dean scoffed.
"Something big is going down. End-of-the-world big." Bobby said.
"Well, then LET IT END!" Dean yelled. Jessica flinched.
"You don't mean that." Bobby said. Dean had gotten up from his seat.
"You don't think so?" Dean was now standing in front of Bobby. "You don't think I've given enough?" Bobby slightly shook his head. "You don't think I've paid enough? I'm done with it. All of it. And if you know what's good for you, turn around and get the hell out of here." Bobby looked stunned. "GO!!" Dean pushed Bobby towards the front door. Jessica stood up straight and called Dean's name.
"Dean, Stop."
Dean looked at the ground. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just go, please."
Bobby sighed. "You know where I'll be." Then he left.
Dean looked at Jessica and then his little brother. A few tears slid down his cheeks.
Jessica walked over towards him to give him a comforting hug. She was shocked when Dean pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her and crying into her hair. Jessica massaged the back of his head and rested her head on Dean's shoulder. They were both equally broken. But would they ever be fixed?

Jessica had curled up on a dirty couch. She was drifting off to sleep but was woken up by the sound of the Impala revving it's engine. She shot off the couch just in time to see Dean pulling away. "Dean!" Jessica yelled. He wasn't coming back or stopping.
Jessica sighed and went back into the house. She sat back on the couch and sighed. Would Dean even come back?

Several hours later, Jessica was still sitting on the couch, waiting for dean to step through the front door. She looked over towards Sam and sighed sadly. "I can't lose two people." Jessica whispered. She prayed silently for Sam to just wake up and be okay. Jessica wanted to see his smile again. She wanted to hear his laugh. Wanted to break up fights between him and his brother Dean. Jessica missed him.
"Just wake up, Sam—"
Sam shot up and gasped for air. Jessica fell off of the couch and ran to his side.
"Sammy?!" Jessica had a smile on her lips. Tears ran down her face.
"Jess?" Sam looked confused. He felt a strange pain in his back.
"Oh my god, Sam!" Jessica hugged the Winchester and cried with joy.
"Ow." Sam groaned. "Jess, I-I can't-"
"Sorry." Jessica let him go and blushed. She watched him get up and stand in front of the mirror. He lifted the back of his shirt and looked at the stab wound. How had he lived?
Just then, the front door opened. Dean was looking at his brother.
"Sam." Dean walked towards him and gave him a tight hug.
"Ow, Ow, Dean—"
"Sorry, Sorry." Dean sniffed. "Just glad to see you walking around. Here, sit."
"What do you remember?" Dean asked.
"I remember feeling a white hot pain. You and Jess running for me, and then, that's it." Sam said.
"Yeah—Yeah that kid stabbed you in the back. You lost a lot of blood, it was touch and go for awhile."
Jessica looked at Dean. Why was he lying? Jessica swore Sam had died.
"But Dean, you—you can't patch up a wound that bad." Sam said. Jessica mentally agreed with him.
"No, Bobby could." Dean replied. "Who was that kid anyway?"
"His name was Jake." Sam said. "Did you get him?"
"He disappeared into the woods." Dean replied.
"We got to find him." Said said quickly. "And I swear I'm gonna tear that son of a bitch apart." Sam started to rise off the bed.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Dean held out his hands towards his brother. "Take it easy Van Damme. You just woke up, all right? Let's get you something to eat. You want something to eat?"
Sam nodded his head.
"I'm starving. Come on." Dean led Sam out of the house and towards the Impala. Jessica followed behind.
What was Dean hiding? And how had Sam been healed? Was it Jessica's prayer that had healed him? Would Jessica even find out?
