Anne's POV

"That annoying little teenage boy. Ugh." I said as I walked inside the school.

"Girl... Anne?.. Darling?" somebody kept on saying but I simply continued to walk, when I heard a sob and turned around and check for the source.

"Amanda? Are you alright?" I asked as I hugged her.

"I didn't know he was cheating on you... Well, me too. I'm sorry." said Amanda with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"No... Amanda. You're not the one whose wrong here. He is." I said as disgust fell from my mouth.

"You deserve to be treated with respect." said Amanda as she let go of the hug and wiped her tears away as she started to nervously chuckle.

"You should too." I said as I smiled.

"That's very kind of you to say. He was just so perfect, but I guess it was just me... Anyways, I've got to get to the principal's office." said Amanda as she sniffed.

"Want me to walk with you?" I asked as I gave her a tissue from my bag.

"No. You did enough. Thank you Anne. I really hope we can be friends... If we're not already." said Amanda as she wiped her face with the tissue I gave her and nodded as she walked away.

"We are friends." I said before she was too far and she turned around and smiled at me, then turned back around and started for the principal's office.

"Anne..." said Gilbert breathless as he appeared behind me.

"I don't have time." I said as I went to talk away but his heavy breathing stopped me.

"I-"

Don't help him. Anne... You have some dignity.

"Sit down. You're over exhausting yourself." I said as I helped him sit down and he pulled me down next to him.

So much for having a dignity.

He had sweat tripping from his face, so I wiped it away with a tissue.

"She-"

"We have the same phone." I said with a chuckle as I put my phone next to his.

How to avoid talking to the one who broke your heart. Change the subject. It works most of the time.

"Would you look at that?" said Gilbert with a laugh.

"Yeah... Lay down a bit. Wait, no let's go to the forest we went..."

"Where we met?" said Gilbert, hopefully.

"Yes. Now move." I said as I helped him to his feet and put his arm around my shoulder.

"Can-"

"I can barely hold you up. Let's talk when we get there. Alright?" I asked and Gilbert nodded instantly.

We walked for about fifteen minutes and now we were sitting under our tree.

I helped Gilbert lay back down and close his eyes, he was half asleep when his phone rang.

"Hey." said Charlie breathless as he approached us.

"Hey, can I leave now?" I asked as I looked at Gilbert's sleeping form..

"You can go." chuckled Charlie, but he stopped me before I left.

"Hm?"

"About Amanda."

"It's alright. It's not your fault. It wasn't your place to say anything." I waved him off and got my phone.

"No, I mean... Amanda and Gilbert dated in the past but nothing too serious. She probably wants revenge." explained Charlie and I frowned confused.

"Why?"

"Gilbert was the only guy who dumped her." said Charlie with a smirk.

"The kiss?"

"Did you see them kiss?"

"No, but I did see a picture."

"Have you ever heard of photoshop?"

"Billy..."

"The fact that he was there just confirms it." said Charlie with a chuckle.

I nodded in agreement as everything started to make sense, my stomach felt like it was going through a Rollercoaster for the first time ever.

"I'm so stupid..." I said as I held my phone close to my palm.

"It's alright it happens." said Charlie, as he gave me a quick hug.

As soon as we let go, I got worried.

"He will hate me..."

"Wha-"

"A... An..... ne." mumbled Gilbert and I rushed to his side.

"I'm here." I said as I held his hand.

"I'll leave you to it." said Charlie as he winked and walked away.

I blushed furiously and sat there for good three minutes. When my phone rang. I had a text... Weird.

"Dude, when are we meeting up?" I read out loud and pressed on the conversation to tell the person that they had texted the wrong person.

"I'm not the person you meant to text..." I was about to send it, when it hit me. I had confused the mobiles.

I hid the keyboard and went to leave the message, when something caught my attention...

'Charlie told me about the whole getting Anne to like you bet by the end of the month. Good luck. If you do this five hundred bucks are yours.'

Oh.
