Anne's POV
You know that moment when you don't know what to do simply because you don't really have many options? Welcome to my world.
Me and Gilbert decided to lie down and look at the sky and before we even acknowledged it. We fell asleep.
I know, I was surprised too...
The worst part is that he was holding me too. Like I was going to vanish from his hold or something.
How could I make him let go?
You would say just wake him up.
But, that would lead me to deal with the awkwardness of having to not only sleep next to him but wake up next to him.
I wonder what's the sound of him voice in the morning... Well, when he wakes up or how his eyes looks...
Yes... I moved on.
Maybe, I'll pretend to sleep.
One Mississippi. Two Mississippi. Three-
"What are you doing?" whispered someone as they covered my mouth.
I turned around and I saw Diana.
"I can't make him let go."
"Awwww. Because you like him?"
"No. His hold is to strong."
"It seems like you are pretty comfortable to me." said Diana as she got up, but her eye caught something else.
"What is wrong, Diana?"
"Why does that letter say Ruby's name?" said Diana and before I could even do anything she took the letter.
"No. Give it. It's personal. Please. Hand it to me." I said as I outstretched my arm trying to get it and trying not to wake Gilbert up. He would start crying and be really worried. I didn't need that written on my slate too.
"What paper?" said Diana as she looked around not paying any attention to my pleads as she saw and got it from Gilbert's hand too.
"Diana, no please." I said but she ignored me once again.
"Her mother didn't want Ruby?" asked Diana quietly.
"Are you kidding me, Gil?" I said as I got to lie more comfortably, but he pulled me in his embrace with a sigh.
"I am coming at 4pm at Green Gables." implied Diana as she looked at me and I shrugged not bothering to talk.
"Keep it a secret my dear friend."
"I won't tell anybody."
"Tell anybody what?"
Of course Charlie had to come right now.
"Diana stay strong." I told her but of course she didn't and gave him the papers.
"I can't lie to him." said Diana shyly.
