Anne's POV

"Is Gilbert staring at you?" asked Jerry with a smirk.

"Don't be ridiculous."

"And you're blushing."

"Shut it."

"My mouth might be closed. But, your heart is open. Look prince charming is behind you." said Jerry as he pointed behind me.

"I don't care." I said as I got a plate.

"Alright then... I'm going to go now. I see Ruby." said Jerry as he walked away.

"Don't look..." I turned and looked behind me and I saw Jerry staring at me with his arms crossed.

"You don't care? Huh... I wonder what you would do if you did." and then he did leave.

Me care about Gilbert? Please.

"Hey Anne."

"AHHH." I yelled as I dropped my plate on the ground.

"Hmmm..." said Gilbert as he stared at the ground.

"Plastic is sure tough." I said as I wanted to bump my head on a table or something.

"It seems to be so." said Gilbert as he smirked at me and leaned to pick up the plate and throwing it in the trash.

"The pies look delicious." I said as I picked up a piece and put it on my plate.

"I sort of did something." said Gilbert with a chuckle.

Oh no it can't be.

His nervous one.

"What?"

"Well-"

"Dear Anne... I hope you're doing well."

I would kill him with my two bare hands.

"Mrs and Mr Blythe, what a pleasant surprise." I said as I stepped on Gilbert's foot.

"Owww."

"Gilbert, you quite alright?"

"I'm quite well, thank you." said Gilbert as he glared at me and I looked at him with a smile.

"If you'll excuse us. We will be right back. Just-" I pushed Gilbert away.

"Violent." said Gilbert as he stood at the other end of the school.

"I sort of did something too." I said with a nervous chuckle.

"What?" said Gilbert as he crossed his arms.

"You know how we read two things. A few days ago and if I'm not wrong it was Christmas and -"

"Anne...?"

"I found Ruby's parents."

"That's something..." said Gilbert, uneasy.

"That's not the worst part." I said as I scratched the back of my head.

"What is the worst part?" asked Gilbert with a raised eyebrow.

"I invited her mother here."

"WHAT?" shouted Gilbert as he turned around and started waking back and forth.

"Shhhhh. It was an honest mistake."

"How... How. Can it be an HONEST mistake?" asked Gilbert as he crossed his arms again.

"She made me."

"How exactly did she make you?" asked Gilbert worried.

"She asked me if we would have a dance. Because, people our age do."

"You're weak." snapped Gilbert as he looked up.

"Hey. You listen to me Blythe, nobody calls Anne Shirley-Cuthbert weak." I said as I pointed my finger at him.

"Blythe."

"Blythe... Wait, what?" I asked confused.

"Wait a couple of years first, love." said Gilbert with a small smile as he tried to breath normally again.

"No- there she is." I said as I saw a woman entering school and Jerry approached me.

"Anne, I was out for two minutes. What is she doing here? Ruby..."

"First, breath..." I said to Jerry and he scowled.

"Second?"

"Well, my dear brother. The second is... It was Gilbert's idea."

"Hey."

"Shut it." I said as I pointed at Gilbert.

"Calm down, carrots."

"Slate face, I swear I just-"

"Hey guys." said Ruby as she approached us.

"Hey, Ruby." I said as Gilbert smiled at her.

"Ruby?" said her birth mother.

"Hello? It's a pleasure to meet you... Who are you?" asked Ruby as she shook the woman's hand.

"I am.....
