Chapter Seventeen

-Tessa's POV-

I stare in shock as Madison presses her lips to Hayes'.

I drop my pen and poster I was signing and turn away.

I push past Mahogany and head for the door without a word.

"Tessa?" Mahogany asks as I shut the door behind me.

I walk out a few steps and cover my face with my hands.

Breath. Just breath.

I take a deep breath and walk over to a bench fifteen feet away and sit down.

I smooth out my skirt and lean my elbows against my legs.

What just happened?

I place my head in my hands and sigh.

"Hey."

I look up to see Cameron standing above me.

"Um... Hey." I say trying not to stutter.

Cameron sighs and sits down next to me.

"You okay?"

I sigh. "Yeah."

He smiles and wraps his arms around me. "Come here."

He pulls me into him and I put my head against his chest.

"You know you're like a sister to me."

I smile. "Thanks."

"Are you gonna be okay?"

"Cameron. It's not a big deal. I'm just shocked."

"I think you're more than shocked." He says pushing me up.

I smile and nod.

"Maybe."

At that moment, Taylor, Matt, Mahogany come out and stand next to us.

"You alright?" Matt asks.

I nod.

"Yeah."

It's silent when Cameron stands.

"Come on. Let's go. We can go swimming at the house." He says and helps me to my feet.

"That sounds good." I say smiling and begin walking toward the car.

Getting inside I shut the door.

I stare out the window when I see Hayes pushing past a couple girls when his eyes meet mine.

He stops in his tracks and stares at me. All I can do his force a small smile at him.

He sags his head and runs his hands through his hair.

He looks at me one last time before the car pulls away.

I sit back and close my eyes.

What do I do now?
