Chapter Eighteen

-Hayes POV-

I stomp into my room and slam my door shut.

Falling onto my bed, I slam my fist against the wall.

Why did I let her kiss me?!

Me and Madison had been really good friends for a long time before Magcon and we still are. My mom has always liked her, but after the whole scene, my mom wouldn't even look at her.

Madison has never been this clingy.

When I was pushing past the crowd and saw Tessa leave, I knew I had hurt her.

Why had I been such an idiot?

I hear my door open and I sigh.

"Not now Nash."

"It's not Nash." The voice says.

Mom.

"Mom please. I'm really not in the mood." I say staring at the wall.

My bed shifts as she sets herself next to me.

"Did you listen to what I said earlier?" She asks.

Her words echo in my head.

Either show or tell her you like Tessa.

"Yes. But that wasn't my fault." I say turning to her. She sits on the edge of my bed staring at me. No emotion written on her face.

"I realized. You obviously didn't enjoy that at all." She says slightly shaking her head.

"Plus, the fans know about Tayes, so why would they cheer that on?" I ask leaning my head against the wall.

Mom sighs. "Fans are weird. You know this. Once they see any opportunity for anything at all they take it."

I sigh.

"And I don't like the fact that Madi kissed you, she at least could have asked you." She continues.

"I know."

She stands.

"But, I'm not going to make a big deal of it. This is something you have to fix." She says before exiting the room.

I bury my face in my pillow.

What have I done?

I lay there when my phone buzzes in my pocket.

I open the message and read it slowly.

Tessa-

Hey, are you coming out to swim? We're all waiting for you.

It takes me a minute to text her back.

Me-

I'll be out soon.

My phone buzzes seconds after.

Tessa-

:)

I slowly push myself off my bed and put on my swim shorts.

I should really talk to Tessa about this. Dating or not, it may affect her.

Because it's obvious we like each other.

We're just both to shy to say it.
