-Tessa's POV-

Shutting my book, I realize that I just read one hundred pages in under an hour.

Nice.

Putting my book aside, I pull my messy bun out and slide the ponytail holder onto my wrist and shake out my hair. Forming a soft, yet messy head of hair.

After putting my swim suit on, I slide on some jeans and a black see-through lace tang top and a black pair of Converse.

Stuffing my phone in my pocket, I glance at myself in the mirror before stepping out into the hallway. Strolling my way over to the stairs I begin humming "Fences" by Paramore.

"Tessa?" A voice calls just as I reach the stairs.

Madison.

"Yeah?" I ask, waiting for a moment at the stairs.

She walks out in a really cute outfit, rolling a suitcase behind her.

My eyebrows furrow in confusion. "Going somewhere?"

She smiles as she reaches me. Her blue eyes shining as the sun hits them, making me wish I had them.

"I'm leaving remember? I was only gonna stay for a week, but decided to stay for two. So today I'm leaving." She stated, motioning to her full suitcase.

I frown. "You have to go?"

She nods, before walking around me and steps onto the next the step. Following her in step down the stairs, there's a moment of silence until we reach the middle.

"We'll have to stay in touch." I say.

She smiles and nods. "Yeah, you'll have to come visit me! And..." She says before trailing off.

"I'll have to bring Shawn along then." I say knowing that's what was in her mind.

She stops and smirks. "Is it that obvious?"

I nod, there's no need in denying it. "Yeah. But it's cute I swear."

She laughs. "Well two weeks isn't a long time to get to know someone but.."

"I get you." I say. "Are you leaving right now?"

She shakes her head "no."

"No. In a few hours, I'm going to the airport with Hayes' mom and sister at eleven."

I stop. The mention of his mom kinda just made me freeze.

"She likes you Tessa. No doubt about that." Madison says, and I realize that she beat me to the bottom of the stairs.

I smile and jog down the last few steps. "Haha thanks. Do you need help? Or do you just wanna leave your stuff here until you have to leave?" I ask.

She looks around before answering. "Yeah I'll just leave my stuff here and grab it as we leave, thanks." She says walking over and placing her suitcase by the door.

Opening the door after she's done, I walk outside into the warm heat of summer time. Smiling, I look around but don't notice anyone.

"I think everyone's at Nash's condo. Saying goodbye probably." Madison says shutting the door behind her. Nodding, I jog down the front steps into the sand and head that way. Madison right on my heels.

-Hayes' POV-

Giving my mom one final hug, everyone files into a line to give her and Sky a hug as well.

Taylor runs up and picks up Sky and spins her around. Her giggles erupting into the air.

Stepping back, I lean against the couch as Matt approaches me.

"Hey kid." He says placing himself next to me.

"Hey." I say, realizing the uncomfortable feeling developing inside me.

"What do you wanna go today?" He asks, sitting awkwardly next to me.

"Umm.. I don't know. I kinda was thinkin-" I say trailing off as I hear the door open behind us.

Looking behind me, I see Tessa and Madison walk through, Tessa cautiously shutting it behind her as Madison skips off toward us. She passes by us without even exchanging glances. Tessa smiles as she slowly approaches. Faltering for a moment at the sight of Matt. But quickly ignoring it.

"Hey guys." She says standing next to me. I take her hand in mine, watching the smile I love forming.

"Hey Matt." She says, leaning forward a bit in order to see him a little clearer.

He looks at her and smiles. "Hey Tes. How are you?"

Tes?

She smiles. And I can see the little tension lift from her. "Good. You okay?" She asks, obviously referring to last night.

He nods, but glances at the floor once before looking back up. "Yep! Fine. A bit tired but good." He says.

A moment of silence follows before he stands and yawns.

"I'm gonna go say bye. I thought they were leaving later but apparently not." He states before walking off toward the group surrounding my mother and sister.

Finding myself oddly uncomfortable in my current position, I slowly slide myself onto the couch and lean my head against one of the many pillows and close my eyes.

Tessa smirks, causing me to open my eyes and see her looking down at me. Her hand still entwined with mine.

"I'm gonna say goodbye real quick and be back, okay?" She says sliding her hand away. And surprisingly, I find myself grabbing at the air for her hand as she turns away.

Watching as she walks over, she picks up little Sky and twirls her around before squeezing her in a tight embrace. I smile. I'm so glad Sky likes her, or else we'd have some problems.

Looking over the walls lazily, I breeze over the same pictures of Palm trees and turtles and move from wall to the next.

On the last wall, I sigh as the one thing I didn't want to see catches my eye.

On the calendar across the room, two week from now is written:

Tessa Leaves

In big red letters.

Sighing, I look at the floor as my thoughts begin to run.

I don't want her to go.

Sorry for how late this is. Been busy.

I'm moving soon so I've been busy with that and school is a killer.

But I'm trying really hard to write and I'm NOT gonna stop! So don't worry!

Next chapter hopefully in a few days to a week.
