Chapter Thirty-Two

-Hayes POV-

It's five and the suns beginning to set. We've done almost every ride twice and I've almost puked like five times, but besides that, it's been going great.

Tessa won't let go of her polar bear, only when we go on rides. "I love it too much to let it leave my sight." She would say every time I would offer to hold it.

Is that good? I think so...

Well at the moment, I'm currently standing outside the girl's bathroom waiting for Tessa.

"Hey." She greets me, walking out with her big polar bear in her arms.

"You really took that in there?" I ask disgusted.

She smirks. "No. I asked a lady to hold it for me. I would never let it touch the floor!" She exclaims as if offended by my asking.

My phone buzzes in my pocket.

"One sec, gotta check my phone." I say as she wanders farther away.

Taking out my phone, "Nash" is displayed on the screen. Answering it, I put it up to my ear. "Hello?"

"Dude! Where the heck are you!" Nash almost yells into the speaker. "We've all been looking for you!"

"Where's Tessa?!" I hear Cameron yells somewhere behind him.

"Nash chill, we're at the boardwalk hanging out. We've been here pretty much all day."

"Oh!!! Guys! Hayes and Tessa are on a DATE!" He yells to whoevers listening.

"Nash!"

"Hmm?"

"Don't say that! It's not a date!"

"Hayes come on are you kidding?!" Mahogany says into the speaker. She must have taken it from Nash. "It's obviously a date!"

"Hi Mahogany, and no. It's not. Just leave us alone I got to go."

"Well we were thinking about coming down there anyways so we may see you there!" Cameron laughs.

"NO! Guys please don't!" I try not to yell.

"It's fine Hayes we'll go somewhere else, have fun. Guys say bye!" Mahogany yells.

"BYE HAYES HAVE FUN!" They all chant.

Hanging up, I run to catch up with Tessa, who stands at a nearby shop, she smiles as I approach her.

"Hey." She smiles.

"Hi."

"Who was that?" She asks.

"Just Nash. He wanted to check where we were."

"Oh. Are they coming?" She asks, her voice not sounding as excited as she normally would be.

"No. They're going somewhere else."

"Cool. Wanna go eat something? I'm hungry." She says pointing to the long lines of food places.

"Yeah. By the time we're done they'll probably be almost ready to set off fireworks."

"Fireworks! Awesome! Where's the best place to sit!?" She asks excitedly.

"I know just the place." I reply.

-Tessa's POV-

With one medium strawberry shake in my hand and Hayes' messy burger in the other, I sit in the place Hayes described.

"It's on the ride side of the opening to the stairs to the beach. Just sit on the fence and wait for me." He said before running off down the street. He didn't seem worried, so I didn't need to be.
