Chapter Thirteen

-Hayes POV-

I wake to the sound of chirping birds and I smile.

I push myself up and throw on a grey shirt with "YEET" written on the front.

I reach for my sweatshirt that normally hangs off my nightstand, but all I find is the wooden surface.

Oh yeah.

I stand up and walk out onto my balcony and breath in the fresh salty air.

I lean against the balcony fence and stare across the ocean horizon.

A slow breeze blows through and cools off my bare arms.

I hear Nash enter my room and come running out onto my balcony.

"Hayes! Guess what?!" He exclaims running up next to me.

I look at him oddly.

"What?"

"Mom and Sky are visiting today!"

I almost fall over the balcony fence when I hear this.

"Are you serious?!"

He nods. "They'll be here in two hours. You get ready." He says and walks over to my door out into the hall.

"Oh." He pauses in my doorway. "And clean your room." He says motions to all my clothes on the floor.

I smirk as he shuts the door behind him.

I walk over and stuff my clothes into their separate drawers and hop in the shower.

I haven't seen my mom and little Sky in over two months and it was starting to take affect on me. I missed Sky's little high-pitched laugh and my mom's sweet tone in her voice when she spoke.

I was so excited to see them.

-Tessa's POV-

I try on yet another skirt. This one black with small daisies crowded onto it, the edge hanging at least six inches above my knees. My top is just a white-laced crop top with tank top sleeves.

I walk out of my bathroom and slip on my white converse shoes.

Mahogany sits on my bed and smiles at me.

"That's the one. You look so cute in that." She says smoothing out her own turquoise skirt with a yellow tank top.

I sigh.

"Why am I dressing up again?"

She smiles.

"Because Hayes and Nash's mom and sister are visiting today and we all want us to look nice. Plus were going out to dinner tonight."

I scoff. "Fine."

"Are you nervous?"

"About what?" I ask.

She sneaks a smile. "Well they are Hayes' parents..."

"Don't." I interrupt.

She laughs.

"I wouldn't be surprised if they already know."

I frown. "About me liking him. Who would have told them?"

She stares at me for a moment.

"Oh."

She smiles.

"Come on. They'll be here any minute now." She says as the sound of tires echoes into the room.

She flattens her skirt and grins at me.

"Well, might as well be the first to greet them!" She says taking my hand and pulling me toward the stairs when a thought crosses my mind.

What if they don't like me?
