I sat in front of the small grave where Xavier buried my Pokémon by the pond right near where we first fell from the hill. He placed a large rock with an engraving on it that said "in loving memory, Dedenne" I couldn't help but tear up when seeing it, but I knew it was time to move on.
"I won't let a single thing ever happen to another Pokémon" I said out loud.
"You can't make that promise, Yannie" Xavier said, walking up to me with a few flowers in hand. "Something always happens to someone. That's part of life."
"Tell me about it..." I sighed and took his flowers to place on the grave and took his hand to stand "Is it time to head out now?" He nodded.
"Yeah. We have to find a few kids around our age who will be traveling with us. A group who have certain skills will come in handy."
"So, you're saying you'll be the only hunter?" He took out his certificate and looked at it to admire it since he got it in the mail.
"Probably. I never met them, but who we get is who we get" we headed off after saying goodbye to Dedenne and headed to the next city or town. "There's a special academy that finds talented students to teach them the arts of vampirism and crafting and sets up groups to go on adventures for certain tasks. I haven't told the professor about my own goal."
"What will you do if he denies it?"
"He'll take away my group" he smiled big "I'm sure I'll get through a lot without them either way. I'll just keep things to myself until the group finds out what I'm planning and report to the professor."
"I see..." I looked around at the beautiful scenery and smiled. I don't even have words. It's so much more than what I see on tv! I don't want to take my eyes off it... "You're so full of yourself just because you're a vampire repellent." I continued.
"That's the best kind of defense."
"But you're not immune to death" I stopped walking and closed my eyes. He stopped to look at me "Never underestimate a vampire's power. It always depends on the power the council holds. Not every member is the same. Try not to be reckless."
"I see where you're going with this" I looked back at him, holding out his hand. I took it and followed him to the next town while I kept my eyes everywhere. It might be dangerous to walk without looking where I'm going, but I have Xavier, who's good with his eyes and sword. I shouldn't have any worries if it comes to regular vampires.
"Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I brought you along. How do you feel about being out here?" I jumped in excitement.
"It's the best! I'm so happy to see it all! I wish Dedenne can see it with me though" I sighed "I would have come out here with my mom months later, but I'm not sure if it'll be the same"
"Why?" I rather not say "What's your mom like?"
"Oh! She's the best! She's the most perfect person I know, and she loves people and Pokémon! People may love her because she's a celebrity, but she sure wish her Pokémon can love her back."
"Your mom's a celebrity!? No way! Who?" I shhed him to keep quiet.
"I don't want you seeing less of her if you find out, so I'm not telling" I crossed my arms and looked away with a pout.
"Oh, come on! I complimented your mom. How can I think less of her?" I'm not going to say a thing, "but I get it. No problem." he smiled "I'm just glad you at least had someone that makes you happy back in that home of yours. How come-"
"I rather not talk about my old life, mainly because it's too depressing" I sighed, "I think she's the only full vampire that's truly sweet, but what do I know?" He nodded "I'm really excited about this adventure! Thank you for taking me with you! I hope nothing bad happens."
