Chapter 29: Jewelry*

"I think it's called a intriguing stone" Xavier said as we headed to a new city by the beach, looking at the jewelry I was staring at from my jewelry box "Your dad did a good job at designing the wire that holds it"

"Yeah! It's really pretty" I smiled, playing with the wire "What about this stone? What do you think it's called?" I looked at the golden orb with slight sharp edges inside golden wire that tangled beautifully through the pocket it was in.

"I'm not sure. Maybe a jewer knows? We can explore Cyllage city and see what they have to offer" he looked at his holocaster "we are almost there. What a relief. I was getting tired of walking with my bare feet in this sand for days" he sighed "I heard there's going to be a race today. Want to go see it?"

"I'm pretty tired right now, so if we go exploring the city today, I'll probably won't be able to stay awake" I nervously laughed, honestly pretty tired of walking for the past few days to get here. Knowing myself, I would want to go looking around as soon as possible, but not be excited enough to see people running or whatever.

"No worries. We can pick up some stuff to take to a hotel we can rent for the night and watch a movie if you want. We don't have to explore right away. We are still on duty, but taking a break so you can relax is better for your sake" I smiled brightly.

"Sure!" I then flinched "b-but we're not sharing a bed!" He laughed, holding his stomach.

"Don't worry, I can get two beds! I'm not that crazy!" So he admits that he's crazy about the things he does to me "Where do you want to start?" I took out a piece in my jewelry box and stared at the broken silver earring piece holding a small black sphere "Want to get that repaired?"

"I feel bad about taking your money... you always buy things"

"It's not like you have anything to buy things off. Selling vampire blood goes for a lot of money, so it's not like we're going to run out. Remember the vampire I killed the other day in a cave? The blood I took from him is enough to get us a room for a few days. I can get you your own room if you wanted to"

"How did you know how to take the exact measurements from that vampire?"

"I may be a hunter, but I studied to be a mortician as my secondary ability. Just like how Tierno studied to be a protector and learned the Hunter skill for his secondary talent. I'm not that specialized in mortician stuff like Shauna, but I know what I'm doing. She just does it better, just like how Tierno is a better protector than I can be. My job is hunting, not protecting, so he knows the ropes better than I do"

"Oh, okay" I smiled and looked up at the amazing looking city we walked towards pass a cliff "wow! It looks like its nestled between that cliff and the ocean" I pointed at the tall cliff I could see from where I was "I will never get tired of seeing a new city! I'm already so excited!"

"We've been walking the beach for days now to get here. Let's get a room and take a shower together" I flinched and punched his arm, which made him laugh "just kidding!"

"Honestly, you play too much!" The two of us wandered around the city until we found a good hotel to stay in. I showered, alone, and later waited for him to get out. He came out with only a towel on and rubbing his hair with a smaller towel. I looked away to avoid staring at his figure, unlike what I was doing in the beach.

"Did I take long?" He asked. I peaked at him looking at me, and automatically looked down to his abs and quickly turned away "What?"

"N-Nothing!" I stood up "Why didn't you get dressed in the restroom!? You know I'm in here!" I blushed. He chuckled and came up to me "Don't come any closer!" I cupped my face "Change in the bathroom!" It was quiet for a moment. I looked up to see him already dressed.
