Chapter 23: Diantha*

My hands were shaking out of control. I could see Ralts's horn glowing from the corner of my eye "X..." I bit my lips, trying to control myself "Why is Ralts's horn glowing..?" He stared at me for a moment before taking out something that I found familiar, but couldn't think of the name for it.

"Ralts senses the emotions of people using the horns on its head. This Pokémon rarely appears before people. But when it does, it draws closer if it senses that the person has a positive disposition" I found myself smiling at the information. He dug in his bag and handed me a pink one.

"Huh?" I looked at it confused.

"Here, this is a Pokédex. It tells the data of any Pokémon you've encountered. Sycamore asked me to give this to you, but I almost forgot until you asked" I looked at Ralts and smiled, amazed how she was able to know how I was feeling "Are you okay, Y?" He asked.

"Yes... I'm hungry" I said truthfully, even if that wasn't what was wrong with me. He didn't detect a lie, which was great. I can't let him know that she's my mom. He'll know that the famous Diantha is my mom who birth a half breed. It may not be as easy to detect that she's the queen and I'm the princess, but it's better that he doesn't get any hints at all.

"I'm trying to figure out who that lady is" X said, sitting down with me "She's wearing sunglasses, so I can't really spot her facial recognition" I looked at mom wearing her disguise not because she's a vampire, but because she's famous, obviously. I thought she was doing her movie. Why is she in a little café like this? "Oh wait, I think that's a famous movie star, the most famous movie star in the world" I flinched. Wow, so a lot of people knows my mom...  "I think you can hear what they're talking about from here" We listened in on mom and Lysandre's conversation, which was as weird as I expected it to be.

"You played a young girl so wonderfully in your debut on the silver screen" Lysandre said "wouldn't you rather remain young and beautiful forever and always play such roles?" She's not going to age anytime soon. She's as old as the Kalos war from what I know.

"Lysandre" Mom held the ridge of her nose, seeming annoyed "why must you ask me these strange questions? I've had a long day and am trying to read the newspaper" if she's reading that, she must know what happened... "I'm always one to try different parts. The same old roles are just so boring" she leaned on the table, bored "youth is beautiful, but it's not all there is to life" I blinked a few times.

"Everything changes. I want to live and change like that, too. Everything chances no matter what" she looked away "I'm not in the mood to deal with you right now, or answer such a stupid question" she held her head "I don't care what else you have to say. I'm in enough stress as it is and I don't need you bothering me again" she really looked like she had a hard time trying to be nice. I can relate...

"You were chosen to be a movie star, correct?" Lysandre pushed "Isn't it your duty to be ever beautiful?" I shook my head confused, getting a bit irritated myself "Everything beautiful should stay that way forever" I got angry rather quickly. He has no idea how long my mom has been alive! He doesn't know she's a vampire, but to give such disrespect towards anyone who may grow old and not be as beautiful as they were when they were young is so low!

"Y?" Xavier looked at me standing up from our table.

"I could end the world in an instant so that beauty never fades" I was about to walk up to him before he popped out a string with a coin in the end. My blood boiled "I can't stand the thought of the world becoming uglier like this..." he swung the string back and forth in front of her. Mom just looked at it boredly "you agree with me, don't you?" I hopped up to snatch the string off his hands and dropped it "oh! It's you!" He smiled like nothing just happened.
