Chapter 16: Academy*

"Who knows" mom winked at me through my memories of when I was a child "Maybe there are some others who know of your existence besides the council and four. Instincts are a real thing and anything can trigger it" I thought through those words as our group traveled towards Lumiose city while I held Viola's big camera in hand...

I had buried the Pokémon Viola had in their Pokéballs by a meadow of flowers before we headed out. After so, we haven't gotten discovered to be the ones who killed the council leader. It would be best after all if nobody knew just in case we were known to be the ones who killed their loved ones or whatever. Even if I didn't think we could had survived that battle, if it wasn't for her exposing Xavier's blood to me... Look where her teasing got her.

Even if I killed some of the vampire population holding her blood, there have been some others and even humans who suffered the most. The people who I saw crying before had stated they lost their significant other or Pokémon due to it all. We saw this coming... but it was a sacrifice made to help everyone in this world. Although... there is still a large chunk of vampires still roaming this earth.

"What are we going to tell the professor..?" Tierno asked nervously as we walked through the route heading towards Lumiose.

"What do you mean we?" Xavier snorted "You weren't involved with what happened. You're not going to suffer the consequences like I am" I glanced at Xavier leading the group without making eye contact. He's been like that since we left Viola's gym. He hasn't said a word to me since then either... I wonder what's going on in that mind of his...

I jumped when feeling Shauna put her hand on my shoulder, bringing me back to earth. She gave me a assuring smile without saying a word and continued walking to catch up to the crowd. I slowed down my pace and watched them walking ahead of me.

"I wonder what mom would think after finding out what I've done..." I looked down "What have I done..? If the Four found out about this, they'll lock me away and kill Xavier" I spoke in a soft voice, looking down at myself. I'm definitely a disgrace now...

"Yannie?" I looked at Xavier and the others looking at me "are you okay?" I hugged my arms and looked away.

"Yeah, I'm sorry... It's just that" I shut my eyes. I felt him wrap his arms around me. I flinched and looked at him holding me close.

"I'm sorry you had to see that... I'll keep apologizing until I know it's okay, but I know it'll never be. I'm sorry I put you through that" I hugged him back, glancing at his neck.

"You don't have to keep apologizing..." he sighed and held me closer. I scratched his back, trying to pull myself together. You've got to be kidding me... He just got better after a few days of being in the Pokémon center and my body wants to take more blood from him?

I unconsciously turned his body to the side so our friends wouldn't see my fangs about to pierce his neck. Not wanting to do this, I knew I had no control over a hungry body. It's like taking his blood before never happened... Are vampires really this crazy to not have control over their thirst?

Before I got the chance to do anything, I flew back from a sharp impact on my shoulder. I groaned loudly with a hush hiss and saw that I had a dagger in me. Xavier kneeled down to see if I was okay while I snapped it out of it and pressed the wound to keep the blood from leaking.

"Yannie!" Xavier gasped. Tierno quickly took off his bag to give me first aid while everyone else turned to see who did this. Two individuals in fancy clothing walked up to us with a disgusted look on their faces while looking at me. I gulped and watched Xavier cover me.

"What's the big idea, Sina, Dexio?" He asked. He knows them?

"You were about to be attacked. You should thank us" Sina spoke, uninterested in the whole thing. Shauna walked up to her.
