We entered Santalune forest with our new team walking ahead of us while Xavier walked next to me, watching me stare at Shauna talking to the boys like everything was normal. I had to keep an eye on her. I'm not going to fall for her tricks.

"Yannie?" Xavier spoke. I raised my head to show that I was listening, but I was still staring at her "What are you doing?"

"I'm keeping an eye on Shauna"

"Why?" I looked at him.

"She's a vampire" he looked at her surprised "but... I'm not so sure"

"What makes you say she is?"

"She smells like one. I even saw that her pupils were narrow" he looked at me confused "Yeah, you heard me right.  Vampires have a narrow pupil like felines, but not all vampires see them. Some have a better eyesight than others, especially humans. I have a absolute perfect sight that can see and even hear far better than regular vampires can" he nodded, listening carefully "I didn't bother checking if I had them" since I can't stand looking at myself for too long "since I'm part human and all, but Shauna's eyes, at least the pointed corners, were microscopic. I had to focus my eyes to notice them"

"She doesn't seem anything like a vampire... It is true that it can be tricky identifying someone we know to be a vampire since they wear contacts... but since you can see her narrow pupils, does that mean she doesn't have contacts?"

"Correct, and that's what bothers me... She also has tanned skin and cried earlier. I never heard of a vampire with emotions" He pocket his hands.

"I haven't either until I met you" I sweat dropped.

"That's different. I'm actually human" he chuckled and stopped for a moment. The others walking ahead of us noticed and turned to see what was going on "What is it, Xavier?" I asked. He dug in his bag and took out a blade the size of my arm and handed it to me with its sheath.

"Here, I wanted to give you this" I took it confused and removed the bright red cover, looking at the strange multi chrome rainbow blade "I figured that this would come in handy for the trip to defend yourself from vampires" I sniffed the blade a little, finding an odd odor "It's a vampire sword. It's made of an expensive material that's coated with poison only a vampire can die from" he leaned closer to whisper "Try not to poke yourself with it" I looked at the blade amazed and put it back in its sheath.

"It's a beautiful weapon" I stared at the design of the cover "Thank you so much" he nodded with a big smile.

"It's a late birthday gift, so I hope you like it" I nodded and place it in the closest pocket of my bag.

"Thank you... I'll treasure it" I smiled happily.

"Even if you give her a blade, she's still worthless" Shauna spat out.

"Shauna!" Trevor warned. She just rolled her eyes and locked her hip. I huffed and speed walked over to face her. I felt the tension of the boys behind me.

"What's your problem? You've had a problem with me from the moment you looked at me at the café. Don't think I didn't notice when you were taking our order" She gulped a little, nearly unnoticeable.

"Y..." Tierno waved his hands "She's always like that. Please don't start a fight. This isn't the time for that"

"Want to know my problem?" Shauna took a deep breath and leaned in to look into my eyes, then looked frustrated "You're... so confusing" huh? "I hate being frustrated..." I had a feeling she was talking about my eyes. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her so we could have some privacy. She didn't even fight me off.
