I had always thought that I was a disgrace for existing, that I wasn't meant to be in this world and there was no reason for me to be alive, but I found it in my heart that I finally felt proud of myself for doing something I did all on my own. There it was, the Eevee who was crashing aggressively in the cage not too long after I took it from the Pokémon center. It was looking around, bright eyed and all.

"Thank goodness..." I cupped my mouth with both hands "I did it..." I looked at my hands "I did it without a struggle. It was that easy for me" Kirlia cheered and went over to greet the confused little fox. Absol looked at me and nodded, like it was saying I did good. I smiled and crawled over to the Eevee taking Kirlia's words confused.

"Hey there" I offered my hand "How are you feeling?"

"Eva" it responded, staring at me with this big eyes. It's hard to believe it was aggressive not too long ago...

"Looks like you're doing well! Thank goodness! I know that your former owner was a vampire and the dose they gave you wasn't any good. I took the liberty of taking you with me to remove the blood that was going... to make you sick" I didn't want to say too much to scare it "I'll be happy to take you under my care so that nothing like that ever happens to you. Would you like that?" It looked at my hand and came closer to sniff it. It just stood there, staring at me. I carefully carried it in my arms and stroke it's fur, making it jump a bit and shut its eyes.

"Don't worry, I will never hurt you. You're safe with me" it dropped it's ears and rested it's head on my chest. I'm sure it's been through a lot with a vampire owner. I won't let anything happen to this little one. I swear to protect the ones I care about...

I made sure to give everything to my new little friend to make it feel comfortable and know that it deserves to be cared for by taking it a shower and feed it some Pokémon food it mostly likely never tried since it watched my own Pokémon eat first before trying it.

The next day rolled around and I went to the Pokémon center to collect some items from the store before heading out as soon as possible. I don't want to see Xavier anytime soon. I just need time to calm down...

I carried Eevee in my arms so it wouldn't feel trapped in the Pokéball for awhile, and let her just explore the world around her. She kept switching places to stay on. She kept getting on the ground to walk with me, but she felt scared at the surrounding people and got back on my shoulders. She switch from my head to shoulders, to arm, and back at the floor again. I'm sure she just wanted to see the world in all angles, which made me happy to see.

"There's so much more to see! Even I haven't seen that much and we have so much more to explore!" We entered the Pokémon center and was bombarded by the nurse gasping like she just seen a ghost.

"You did it!" She cheered loud enough to make people stare at us. I blushed and walked up to her "I knew you could do it! Look at that! It doesn't even look like the same Pokémon! That's so great!" She bowed over and over again "Thank you so much for your service!" I waved my hands.

"I-It was nothing" after getting praised over a dozen times, I bought what I needed at the market on the other side of the building and was on my way out the town. I couldn't stay to admire it all, sadly, but I had to go as far away from where Xavier might find me.

I headed to the exit and heard a thump behind me. At the same time, I felt a presence of a leader coming closer, which made me jump back and see a familiar Riolu running over to pick up my mega evolution book while Korrena skated towards me with her Lucario.

"Hi there!" She snatched the book from Riolu and held it beside her "It's nice to see you again! You were one of the fellows that Riolu ran towards the other day from route 5! From what I remember!" Her smile was as fake as any "What was your name again?"
