Chapter 17: Poison*

"Vampire weapons are dangerous" mom was talking to my dad while I was playing with toys "they're coated with a poison that can only kill vampires. I heard if a human was hurt by it, it would only make them sick for a little while until the body fights it off"

"What do you think it'll do to Yannie?" Dad asked "If she gets hit with it, won't her vampire self suffer while her human self just gets sick? Will that sickness kill her..?" Mom sighed and frowned at me.

"I hope she never experiences that poison... She can't even take human blood. I'm worried. What have I done?" she looked guilty, looking at me before tearing up. Dad comfort her while I walked up to hug both of them. I had promised them in my head that I'll be the most careful and won't ever have to make them worry or regret anything. Look what I've done...

I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was laying in a bed that looked like a hospital bed, but where I was laying in looked nothing like the Pokémon center. It just looked like a fancy room with fancy furniture.

I shakily got up to sit on the edge of the bed and tasted something familiar and sweet in my mouth... is this Xavier's blood? I looked down at myself confused and saw that I was wearing a plain white dress with little Vivillions everywhere, almost like a hospital gown but no strings attached.

I looked at my hands and saw that the marks were gone... like they weren't even there. I even rubbed on my shoulder and felt nothing there either!

"Was I imagining everything..?" I jumped to my feet and looked at the door opening to let in Xavier holding a tray of food with Shauna following, expecting to see me in my bed, but saw me standing and started sobbing.

"Y!" She jumped into my arms "I was so worried!" I hugged her back and looked at Xavier smiling at me while putting the tray of food down next to my bed.

"Hey guys... what happened? Where am I?"

"You're in the dormitories! This bed was placed here for your convenience. This is my room! The headmaster gifted it to me when I was a student! And I'll forever be mine to keep!" Shauna smiled. Right, since she is his daughter, I'm sure she gets the privilege to get her own dorm... but I usually thought dorms were way smaller than this.

"You've been asleep for about a week recovering from the poison Sina threw at you with her dagger. It made you sick and it almost killed you" Xavier said "she got in huge trouble with the headmaster and got suspended from fulfilling her duties"

"Did you tell him that she didn't know?" I asked.

"Y" Shauna spoke "It's illegal to shoot a poisonous vampire dagger at a human. Regular people who aren't hunters or crafters are not allowed to carry such weapons, so if a hunter takes advantage of the weapon, it can lead to suspension or removal of her certificate. Keep in mind that many of the students here devote their lives to hunting and crafting, so if they do something as bad as what Sina did to you, even on accident, it's taken very seriously" I see...

"So all that happened because of that dagger?" I asked.

"Exactly, but what we theorized was that some of the out of control behavior you experienced was because you were thirsty. Don't think I didn't see you trying to bite me back in the route" he smirked. I blushed and looked away "Even if it was better that you weren't seen biting me, throwing a dagger at you wasn't a good excuse to say that it kept you from being exposed. You could had died either way"

"I'm sorry I tried biting you..." I frowned.

"That happens with vampires" Shauna said "I don't crave it as much as I did when I was little. Dad always gave me a fresh supply of his blood so that I won't go nuts. I'll often be too full to attack while he often suffers to keep me calm. I tell him to not push himself, but not only was I his experiment, I was his daughter. He cared about me. X cares about you and I'm sure that's why he doesn't mind giving you his blood. It's best to keep feeding from him as often as you can" Shauna held her hips "I might not be like the rest, but I still need blood to survive"
