Chapter 40: Swear•

"Oh great! Not another one!" The male grunt in a white suit yelled at me "first we got this guy keep coming back to bother us, now another kid is here to distract us!?" the leader was still keeping his eyes on me. He didn't respond. For some reason I didn't feel intimidated of him in the slightest, even if I was right next to him "I told yah we're not going anywhere until we get all the power we need!"

"Forget him. He's not going to do anything" the girl in a red skirt said, flipping her ponytail. The leader slowly looked back at them "I'd say we finally have enough energy to power the device"

"Good! Let's finish up here and move out! I'm tired of this guy coming back" The guy looked at us "I'll be happy to just get away from any distractions" he looked back at the girl "there's still more work to be done"

"Finish up fast" the leader said, catching the grunts attention "I don't feel like dealing with you anymore. I got things to do around here" I blinked a few times, questioning why he wasn't using his intimidation against them. Does he know it doesn't work on them? He doesn't even look bothered to even try.

"With pleasure" I stepped in front of the leader and raised my arm to keep these guys from going anywhere.

"Don't forget I'm still here too" I held my hips "you think you're just going to barge in this place, steal electricity, cause a blackout in the region, and get away with it?!" I could feel the leader's stare. It was quite intense to say the least. I felt like my fear was slowly building up again. "Try to get pass me if you think you'll get away with this" the grunts looked even more annoyed. I have to buy time for Xavier or corporate to arrive.

"Here I thought we can finally ditch this guy, yet another annoying person had show up. Who are you anyways? Do you work here?" The girl looked at her partner "I thought the workers were all tied up" I huffed and stomped my foot.

"The only annoying person here is you all!"

"She doesn't look like she works here. I got one of the grunts to take care of that!" the guy stared at my eyes, squinting his eyes to see mine properly "why are your eyes blurry?" I had no words. There has to be a reason why these people can't see my eyes.

"Mysterious sight, but either way, we don't have time to handle anymore annoying trainers" The girl said, taking out her Pokémon with the guy. I rolled my eyes annoyed and send out Riolu and Eevee. Eevee looked around confused before seeing that we're in battle and quickly dashed to hide behind me. I guess it's too soon.

"Riolu! Absol! Let's go for another battle!" They nodded and went on to become victorious in the end. Eevee saw this and ran towards the fainted Pokémon, quickly slapping it a few times before dashing back behind me. I sweat dropped and chuckled nervously. That's a start...

"Damn you!" The male admin glared at me. The girl, who told me her name as Aliana, shook her head and waved her hand.

"Well, I certainly didn't expect you to be so interesting. I do hope we can meet again" she snorted and walked pass me with the admin. I was about to reach out and grab her before my body swayed sideways and fell back, landing on someone's chest. I looked up to see the guy looking down at me

"You're a council member... Clemont, right?" I said, tired. He sighed softly and placed me on the floor before walking away "wait" I reached out. He looked back and stared at me "you know who I am, yet you're just walking away?" I dropped my arm, being too tired.

"I have to turn the power back on" Xavier came out of nowhere, passing him to come check if I was okay. Clement turned back around to witness Xavier holding a vampire sword. I would hope he'd say something, but didn't and walked away again.
