lauren,

the doorbell rang.

my father was out on a business trip to san fran for something.

so it was just me and my mother for a week.

"it's for you, lauren!" i heard her call.

i walked in and saw shawn standing in the doorway with a poster and yellow colored flowers.

i smiled and walked closer.

"what's this?" i asked and read it.

you will brighten up my day if you say YES to homecoming ?

the words were in yellow besides the YES and homecoming ?

it was the cutest thing ever.

"yes" i smiled at him.

he put the poster down and my mom took the flowers.

he walked in and kissed me.

i kissed him back. my hands were on his face.

we pulled away and he hugged me.

we pulled away.

"that was really cute" i said.

"well i do remember you saying you liked the cute things" he said and i remembered our ihop conversation.

"come in here" i said grabbing his hand and leading him further in the house.

"i thought your dad-"

"my dad's not here. he's in san francisco this week" i said.

"okay" he said.

my mom walked back into our view.

"i put the flowers in a vase. they're beautiful" she said.

"i know she likes yellow" shawn said making me smile.

"mom, this is shawn. you guys haven't officially met" i said.

"it's very nice to meet the boy who keeps my girl smiling" my mom said and hugged him.

"it's nice to meet you as well mrs. taylor." shawn said politely.

"oh please, call me jenna" she said with a smile on her face.

"you guys go out and have the day. it's a beautiful day" my mom said.

"well i'd have to get dressed first" i said.

"i'll wait" shawn said.

"well you can wait in my room. my bathrooms connected to my room so" i said and brought him with me.

"okay" he said and walked in.

"your room is nice" he smiled.

"it's original and boring" i shrugged.

i looked through my dresser drawers for something to wear.

"where exactly are we going?" i asked turning to shawn.

who was just staring at me.

"what?"

"you're just-" he stopped.

and i remembered ihop morning.

"i'm just what?" i asked.

"you're beautiful and i can't ever stop looking at you" he stood up and walked closer to me.

"definitely not" i said.

"you definitely are." he said and kissed me.

"i have to get dressed" i whispered.

"i'll wait" he said.

i went to my closet and found something to wear so i put it on and did a little makeup.

"damn, you look good" shawn said when i walked out.

"thank you shawn" i smiled at him.

he held his hand out which i grabbed and he spun me around and then we were inches away from each other.

"i want you to meet someone" he said.

"okay" i said. "who?"

"my mom." he said and we walked downstairs together.

i told my mom bye and then we got in shawn's car and he drove us to this restraunt.

"this place looks nice" i said as we got out.

"yeah, it is. when i was younger we used to go here a lot" he said.

i smiled at that.

he grabbed my hand.

"come on" he said and we walked inside.

we walked over to a table that had three other people seated.

"hey" shawn said to them.

i remembered aaliyah and michael.

shawn's sister and her newly husband.

"hey, shawn. and lauren." aaliyah hugged both of us.

i smiled at her.

shawn pulled out the chair in front of him for me.

"thank you" i smiled at him and he sat next to me.

and i was guessing that the lady across from us was shawn's mom.

"shawn" she said.

"uh this is lauren. my girlfriend" he introduced me to her.

"it's lovely to meet you, lauren." she smiled at me.

"yeah, you too" i smiled.

"this is my mom" shawn said.

i nodded and smiled.

it was getting dark out.

"you wanna dance?" shawn asked as we were both standing in the dark empty parking lot.

"dance? to what music?" i asked with a smile on my face though.

"we don't need music. i don't need it. i just need you to dance" he said.

"okay" i agreed.

he put his arms on my waist and i put mine on around his neck and i leaned my head on him.

shawn. being with him, being around him.

my feelings for him were the most real thing i've ever felt.

i pulled back a little and looked up at him and he was looking at me.

"i never knew what a softie you were" i said with a smile.

"well you never knew me until now" he said.

"i guess thats true" i said

"it's getting chilly outside" i said.

"you can wear my jacket" he said taking it off.

"then you'll be cold" i said.

"i don't care, as long as you're warm" he said.

i smiled and he put it on me.

"it's getting late. we should go" he then said.

but i didn't want to go.

i wanted to stay in this moment forever.

i was in love with this moment.

i wanted this to last forever
