chapter eighteen

"hey, i know you're hurting so i won't pry or make you talk to me so i brought you this" hailey walked into my room with a tub of ice cream.

"thanks" i said taking it from her.

"we can share it. we don't have to talk about shawn" she said.

i opened it and she handed me a spoon.

we both started to eat the ice cream.

i leaned my head on her after awhile.

"boys suck" i said.

"tell me about it" she said.

"you ready for this?" hailey asked as we hooked arms.

"yeah and i'm right here too" blake said hooking arms with me on the other side.

"thanks guys" i said to them.

"we're always here for you" hailey smiled and we walked in together. "we're family, it's what we do"

everyone went silent. i'm the new show and everyone's watching me because of shawn and i hated having all of the attention on me like this. they all looked at me.

after a few second they all went back to their own lives. i went to my locker with my cousins by my side.

"i'm gonna be fine. you guys can go now" i said to them.

"are you sure?" hailey asked. i knew she wanted to go find cameron.

"yes. go find cameron or whatever" i said.

"okay. i love you! stay strong" she kissed my cheek and walked off.

i watched as she walked over to shawn, cameron and bryce. i glanced over at them and saw bryce glance over at me but he didn't say anything.. it looked like he wanted to though.

she stood next to cameron and a few seconds later they walked away together.

blake was leaving too. blake was going to the library for something so i told him to go too. i would be fine. the worst that can happen is samantha or shawn and i think i can handle seeing either of them without having a breakdown today.

i tried to put my combination in my locker but i was struggling today. today was just a big struggle for me because i just got back from florida where i was actually having a good time but shawn is here. and i wish he wasn't.

"can't figure out the code?" shawn said. of course it's just my luck, that he'd come up to me and say something. i bit my lip and took a deep breath before i turned and looked at him.

i turned to him but didn't say anything.

"hey, dude.. stay away from her" blake said angrily as he walked back over to where i was standing and he was angry.

"chill out." shawn said looking at blake. "i just wanna talk"

"she doesn't want you anymore, i suggest you stay away or i'll break your face and that's a promise" blake said getting in his face.

i glanced at shawn who was asking for help with his eyes.

"this ones on you" i said to him and walked away. "you put yourself here"

i walked to my chemistry class but on the way, i was stopped by someone. i was stopped by bryce.

"hey, i just wanted to say that i'm sorry about you and shawn." he said to me.
