The prince immediately stepped down.

Midoriya felt like gravity was failing him, and he swore he could feel the earth turning. His head felt like it was going to explode. Memory after memory flashed before his eyes, and Midoriya couldn't see clearly anymore.

Even when the prince walked right up to him.

Midoriya looked into the prince's eyes. He never thought that he would actually see him again, but here he was, standing with might and pride. Part of Midoriya felt light and carefree. This was his chance to finally reunite with his old friend! But the other part of him was being weighed down. His heart was racing, the temperature was rising unsteadily, and his stomach was flopping inside out!

'Is this even real?'

Midoriya couldn't look away from the other's dark red eyes. The world seemed fake, forged! Questions raced through Midoriya's mind and it was driving him mad. He tried to move, but no matter how much force he put into his body his nerves would not react.

He wondered how the other felt.

The queen had sensed it now. She held her arms closer to herself and frowned, but not with sorrow. "Ah, now, what's this?"

Midoriya's sense of being told himself to snap out of it, but he remained dazed. The memories continued flashing. There was no way that... he could have grown up into this... there's no way! Midoriya refused to believe it. But his eyes traced over every detail on the prince's face, how it was clear of freckles and how his eyes were small and squinted. His hair hadn't changed one bit. It was still a beautiful platinum blonde and spiked up in random areas.

This was him.

Midoriya had two choices now: fight or flight. But what would he do if he were to run away? The king and queen could find him suspicious, and only the gods know how many armies would hunt him. Heck, the swordsman himself wasn't even in trouble! Besides, nothing would happen if he didn't try.

Midoriya took the chance. He backed up, just a tiny bit, and took a short breath before speaking. "K-Kacchan...?"

The other's breath hitched. Was he afraid too? It was always difficult to tell what was going on inside his head. He was always so brash and prideful. Midoriya wouldn't be surprised if that hadn't changed.

The prince blinked rapidly, and after what felt like hours of tension, he looked away. Midoriya finally woke up, and he looked back to Kaminari, who was... absolutely perplexed. He eyes were racing from him, to the prince, to his parents, and right back. The prince had looked back to his parents. His father had raised a brow at him, and his mother was leaning her face on her left hand. Questioning looks were the only thing he could get from them.

The prince was not going to just run. No way.

He looked back to Midoriya with a glare strong enough to burn into his brain. He saw how the other flinched and tightened up his already curled hands. Yeah, the prince could win this game.
