Chapter Forty-Three: Fated End

The sky... it was so large, so immense, so spectacular...

Midoriya never thought he would get the chance to fly through it, and on the back of something as magnificent as a dragon! He was actually going to fly... He was actually going to fly!

"I... I can't..." he whispered, laughing in the middle of his words, "I can't believe it..."

Uraraka came bouncing up to him, clutching her staff close to her chest, squealing excitedly. "Eeehee! I knew you would react like this! Isn't it great?"

"It's... I still can't comprehend it," Midoriya admitted. He then looked at Bakugo again, eyes wide and sparkling with eagerness. "We're really flying?!"

"Why wouldn't we?" Bakugo started. "Now that King Endeavor is on our side, we don't have to be cautious of him. The skies are ours."

Kirishima and Kaminari stepped behind him, eclipsing the rising sun in the distance. The sky finally started to light up in glorious pinks and oranges, dancing like flames across the heavens. A new road was opened up now. Midoriya felt like he could truly see the sky.

"Well? What are we waiting for? Come on!" Bakugo urged.

"W-What are we doing?" Midoriya stuttered, confused as he followed the other.

"We're going on a test flight."

Midoriya abruptly paused. He looked up at Kirishima and Kaminari, feeling his stomach sink in his body. "Wait... we're flying now?"

"I'm with Midoriya here!" Iida suddenly proclaimed, sprinting up to Bakugo's side and waving his arm in a stiff motion. "Have you even thought this through?"

"I've thought it through plenty," Bakugo groaned.

"What if someone sees us?"

"Endeavor already told them that it's no big deal!"

"What if someone falls?"

"We'll catch them."

"What if it rains?"

"IT RAINED LAST NIGHT!"

"IT CAN RAIN AGAIN!"

"YEAH, WITH THESE CLEAR SKIES!"

Todoroki stepped away from the trees and in front of them both, and instantly, Iida stopped yelling. Bakugo forced himself to retreat as well.

The sun was still rising, painting the sky in its glorious light and whimsical tones. Kirishima and Kaminari gazed out onto Ostus with happy smiles, and then, they diverted their attention to the skies. Though they were better known in their human forms, being a dragon felt just as natural to them. Their magical blood could flow easily through smooth skin and scaly skin.

It's been forever since they could fly. Finally, they would be allowed to show off their pride for Draconia.

Bakugo grinned, nudging his head to Midoriya. "You'll go with me, Deku. The half n half bastard and four eyes can take dunce face."
