It was rare to see Midoriya as tense as he was now.
His body was upright, active and ready, prepared for any strike that dared to impact him. His left hand was behind his back, but his right was held in front of him like a weapon. The emerald green captured in his eyes held confidence, certainty, and courage.
Quickly, he swiped his left hand at Bakugo, only to miss. Bakugo responded by lifting his arm out of the way and smacking Midoriya's elbow. "I win."
"Come on!" Midoriya groaned, retreating away from his opponent. "You didn't give me any time to dodge!"
"That's the point."
Crossing his arms, Midoriya scoffed, " 's not fair."
"Keep pouting, nerd. That's... what was it now... 39 to 32? Pretty big gap, but I'm not complaining..."
Instantly, Midoriya sat back up, both of his arms spread out like a warrior's. "Fine! Taunt me all you want, but I'll show you! You'll regret ever picking on me!"
"Alright, let's see if you can back up your big talk!" Bakugo grinned and spread his arms out. "You move first."
Midoriya waited a long moment, watching the slow movements coming from the draconic prince. Bakugo didn't let down his guard for a second. He had a wide stance, his arms spread, elbows bent, his knuckles clenched like he was holding an explosion in his hands. Bakugo's very position was mocking the swordsman, provoking him, making him want to land just one attack...
In a flash, Midoriya struck his hand out and aimed for Bakugo's left arm. The prince moved just in time though, staying still after the small movement. The two were frozen together, waiting, waiting, waiting...
Bakugo moved again, shooting out his right arm to aim for Midoriya's left. The swordsman crossed his arm across his chest to dodge.
"Scrunching up already?" Bakugo irked. "What, scared of me so soon-?"
Midoriya moved his left arm away from his chest and slammed it onto Bakugo's arm. "Ha! I got one!"
But Bakugo followed right after him, using his left arm to attack Midoriya's left arm. "Lost one too."
Midoriya grimaced at the taller, but put his arm behind his back. "Alright... one down, one to go..."
"You won't get the chance."
The two continued to playfully fight each other, dodging with quick and sudden movements that left them on guard. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't seem to touch each other. Midoriya was too quick, and Bakugo's guard was too high. But that didn't mean either of the two gave up. With relentless attempts and endless determination, they continued to pursue each other, turn after turn.
The game only ended when Midoriya slipped a little, falling back on the dragon to give Bakugo a perfect opportunity. Before he knew it, Midoriya felt Bakugo's arm slam onto his own, ending the game with a miserable defeat.
