Chapter Twenty-Four: Caramel

Midoriya began to walk to back to the sirens.

No.

Hell no.

Bakugou ran forward, but just as he did, Midoriya slashed at him with the dagger. But in the nick of time, Bakugou used his sword to block the attack.

"Deku!" he screamed. "Snap out of it!"

But the other didn't hear him. Midoriya slashed his arm back up, scraping his dagger against Bakugou's sword. The Draconic prince moved himself so his back was facing the sirens.

He wasn't going down without a fight.

Midoriya struck at him again, but Bakugou slashed back, dragging their connected weapons up. The swordsman slashed his dagger back down. Bakugou followed him, but his guard had lowered. Midoriya raised his leg and kicked the other in his chest.

Shit!

Bakugou collapsed at the force, his sword falling out of his hands. Midoriya looked back to the sirens...

Todoroki felt the floor under him bump up. He calmly looked over to the other side, but when he saw the scene, he immediately ran over.

Midoriya heard him coming. He tucked his dagger under his hand and punched at Todoroki's neck. The prince dodged. But Midoriya only responded by bringing out his dagger and drawing his arm back. The weapon only cut Todoroki's sleeve.

Todoroki noticed something as he continued to counter Midoriya's attacks. He was fast. Surprisingly fast. But his weakness was being clumsy...

Todoroki threw his sword to the side, hoping to bring some kind of attention over to him. Midoriya ran over with both of his hands holding his dagger. His cold blue eyes lacked any empathy he had known before.

Todoroki aimed a punch at Midoriya's gut.

The swordsman coughed, some of his spit flying out of his mouth and onto the floor. His grip on the dagger loosened.

Todoroki reached out to it-

But Midoriya followed with a punch under his chin. Todoroki bit his tongue, the taste of copper filling his mouth. He collapsed on the ground.

Kirishima felt something clatter on the floor behind him. He turned his head around and saw Todoroki, who had collapsed. In front of him was Midoriya, with a dagger in hand and his back arched in a battle-like posture.

Kirishima withdrew his own daggers, but he heard something beside him. It was something so loud that it broke through the barriers of the beeswax.

A gunshot.

Kirishima's eyes averted to Kaminari. He was holding his pistol over the edge of the boat, aiming and firing. Kirishima peeked his head down the boat...
