Chapter Thirty-One: Alliance

A gentle nudge on his cheek was all it took to wake the swordsman up.

Midoriya fluttered his eyes open, his vision hazy, but the first thing he saw was the silhouette of another person. As he continued to wake up, he started to recognize the person in front of him. His wild blonde hair and the wolf's fur on his red cloak gave it all away.

"I figured you would want to watch the sunrise with me again."

The two ventured back to the lake and rested on a large rock to watch the sunrise. The weeping willows made it impossible to see the sun, but Midoriya marveled at the colors of the sky. The way they reflected in the lake's crystal clear water was amazing. It was like the sky's own personal mirror.

But he couldn't stop himself from looking at the person sitting to right.

"S-So... um..." he started, "Did you mean it?"

"Did I mean what?" the prince asked, his red eyes turning to meet Midoriya's.

"Did you mean what you said last night... you know... the whole... being in love with me thing..."

"Did you mean it?" Bakugou asked.

"O-Of course I did! I wouldn't lie about something like that!"

"That's my answer," the prince responded.

Midoriya felt himself blushing again. He quickly turned his head to stare back at the sky's mirror.

"S-So... does that make us a thing?" he asked.

Bakugou perked a brow. "Um, that's what we agreed on, so yeah."

"Ok... Ok! So I'm your boyfriend... ok... and you're my boyfriend... never thought this would happen to me... oh gods I have a boyfriend..."

Bakugou couldn't stop himself from laughing.

Midoriya whirled his head around at the prince. "Hey! Why are you laughing?"

"It's, haha, it's just how nervous you are," Bakugou laughed out. "Come on Deku, relax a little. It's still me."

"I..." the swordsman paused to sigh, "I know. I'm just really happy, you know? I don't want to screw it up..."

Bakugou paused, watching Midoriya nervously twiddle his thumbs together. He was worried about something so silly, and yet so serious. The prince thought it was kind of cute.

He reached over with his left arm and wrapped it around the swordsman's shoulders. Midoriya gasped in shock, looking over. "Kacchan..."

"Look, Deku... I don't know what I'm doing either. I've never had a boyfriend before, and even as kids, you were the only person I ever really liked. So I really want to try this with you..."

Midoriya's eyes widened as Bakugou continued, and suddenly, he felt guilty for his shyness.

"And so what if we screw up a little?" Bakugou asked. "As long as I don't lose you, I'll be fine."
