Chapter 23

"Do you have everything with you kitten?" My mother asks as I was packing my swim bag.

Today was the day the girls of class 1-A are able to go to the U.A. pool to have some fun. It was a great day to go swimming. The sky was clear, and the sun was shining. My cat side might not be a fan of water, but the excitement to be with my friends blinded me to that.

"Yep."

"Okay........you have your pocket knife?"

"Haia........" My father crossed his arms as he sighed in distress.

"What? Those villains could be anywhere right now. Even on the path to U.A. I want her to be safe."

I smiled at my mom and pulled out my personalised pocket knife out of my back pocket. I then put it back and slung my bag over my shoulder.

"I'll be gone for a few hours. When I leave the pool, I'll call one of you so you know I'm on my way home."

"Okay, have fun sweetie!" Dad yelled as I jogged out the door. I waved goodbye and disappeared down the street, my tail swishing from side to side in excitement.

As usual, the train was crowded with many people and I got recognized by a bunch of adults. But, it was quiet on the rest of my walk to U.A. The weather was great for a small run, guess I'll have to wait to do that later.

"Chieko!!"

My ears perked up and I froze completely. I looked over my shoulder and saw Uraraka jogging towards me. A smile appeared on my face and I waved.

"Uraraka! Hey! Are you excited for today?" I asked. We began walking side by side as she caught her breath.

"Yeah, of course I am. I'm hanging out with all of my friends!" She replied. I gave her a small nod and we continued our walk in comfortable silence.

Once we got to U.A., we met up with the other girls and changed into the school swimsuits. Everyone was so excited to be here, we've never really had a chance to hang out, especially since our last attempt to do that as a class was ruined by Shigaraki.

My smile fell momentarily but was lifted when my eyes landed on the huge pool in front of us.

"Okay! I say we stretch first! We don't want anyone cramping up in the water!" Momo announced as she lead us to one side of the pool.

"Man, it's been a long time since my last swim." I said rubbing the back of my neck as I gazed at the pools water.

"Why's that Chieko? Pools are awesome!" Ashido exclaimed making me chuckle.

"It's a little irritation of mine. I'm okay with taking showers or baths, but getting touched by rain or jumping in a pool always made me feel nervous. I didn't like it that much as a child so my mom didn't take me as often. She understood my nervousness cause she's part cat as well." I explained and Ashido nodded.

"Well, does the look of it get you nervous now?" She asked.

I looked at the pool again. The suns rays sparkling over the water and the soft sounds of the tiny ripples hitting the sides of the pool gave the entire place a nice atmosphere. I smiled and shook my head.

"No, not anymore."

When we were all lined up on the side of the pool, we did many stretches. Early into our stretches, some of the guys from our class started to show up and gather on the other side of the pool.

One of them must've gotten permission to use the other side, I wonder what for? 

"There you are slow pokes!" I heard Iida announce.
