I walked into the small room and stared at the plain, white walls then quickly looked away.

Those walls could kill you if you started long enough and make you go insane. Instead I looked at my small daughter lying still on the bed.

The constant beeping from one of the machines by her head reassured me that she was still with me, fighting every second.

On her bedside cabinet I had placed a photo frame of Alexa, Naya and myself so when she woke up it could be the first thing she saw. There was also her favourite teddy on the cabinet and she was covered by her favourite blanket.

After kissing her forehead I left the room again and went back to the waiting room where I collapsed in Marissa's embrace.

I could only ever manage a few minutes in the room before having to leave. But Marissa had stuck with me throughout and supported me.

Sorry. Please don't kill me.
