(Devyn)
Last night was better than any other night. My nightmares are horrible. I can never sleep through the night without having at least two or more.
I looked over and Xander was passed out.
He was hugging my pillow and I touched his arm tracing the ink tattooed on his skin.
My mom opened my door, popping her head in smiling. She whispers, "Come downstairs."
I smiled and I quietly, easily climbed out of my bed, hoping to not wake him. I grabbed my glasses putting them on.
Zed was standing outside of my door and he glared at me. He slides his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"What?"
"Who's that?" "It's not Ethan."
I continued my way downstairs and my mom was on the phone giggling. "Hey, mom."
"I'm going to town soon. With a friend." I looked at her and Zed was linking arms with Emily standing at the kitchen island.
"With a friend?" "From work. We're going shopping." "Okay. Have fun. Is it okay if Em and I go to the mall?" "Yea. That's fine."
My brother was still hounding me about who was in my room and I looked at him.
"Explain."
Our mom was making breakfast, "Make him go away. Please?" "Zed. Take it down a notch."
He walked away, going to the living, sitting on the couch with Emily.
"So?" "Yes?"
"What's he like? He stayed over." "He's great. I'm just scared because of the whole Ethan thing."
"Still. He helped you through your nightmare last night." "I know."
She gives the look of telling me more I need to know like Emery does.
"We've kissed a few times. That's it." "A few?"
"Mom."
She smiled and lets me go.
I went back upstairs and I quietly entered my room.
"Sorry. I didn't wake you, did I?"
"No. I just got off the phone. Jax is throwing a fit."
"What about?"
"Where I've been."
I sat in my bed looking at him and he grabbed my hand.
I blushed.
"How did you sleep last night?"
I take a deep breath in because that question means more than it actually is asking.
It's not simple.
"Better. Not the greatest. A nightmare is a nightmare. They'll never disappear."
He frowns.
(Xander)
"Can we just sleep all day?"She checked her phone and was messaging someone.
"I wish but I promised Em that I would go to the mall with her today."
"Okay. Can I join?"
She smiled turning on her side facing me, "You want to go to the mall with two girls? Shop, drag you into stores you may not want to be in?"
"Yea. And?"
"I'm meeting her soon. Like another hour or so."
"Okay."
