(Devyn)

Today, Xander was at work while Eli and I had the apartment to ourselves.

So I call Emery and she picks up.

"Hey, you."

"Hey, you."

"What are you up to?"

"Sitting here at the house. Hero and Bryce left for Hero's moms. What about you?"

"Well, Eli and I are home alone but I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to the tattoo shop because I have no one to go with me."

"Sure. When are you going?" "Can you meet me at my apartment?"

"Hell yea. I haven't gotten a tattoo in so long."

"The one I'm getting is like two to three sessions and it will take a long time."

"I'm watching."

She laughs and I smile.

"When you get here, we'll go and get coffee at the Café and then we'll go."

"See you in a minute."

About an hour later, we went to the coffee shop.

We walked in and ordered our coffee and something to eat.

We sat down waiting for our food.

"So what are you getting?"

"Remember when I wanted a body tattoo. Like from my thigh up to my ribs?"

"Yea."

"That. But I'm getting like roses, all these other flowers. And I love what Logan did with the snake so I'm gonna get snakes hiding and around it."

"Damn that's gonna be beautiful."

"Yep," I take a sip from my coffee.

"What did your boo thang say?"

"He knows that I'm going. Just not what."

"He never knows what."

"My boo thang likes to be surprised."

Eli was cooing and eating pieces of cereal bites I brought with me.

"Before we go, I told Zed he could babysit this one while I did my session. So we'll drop him off and then go."

Emery smiled, "Sounds like a plan."

(Xander)

It was now 7:45am and I drove to work. I get there by 8am and I pulled in behind the building parking by Dad's truck.

I got out with the donuts putting my phone in my pocket along with my keys.

"Hey, loser."

"No donuts for you then."

Derek gave me the puppy look and I shook my head.

"Where's Dad?"

"Right here. Getting ready to leave for the day. Why?"

"Donuts? And where are you going?"

"Your mother and I are spending the day together. She needs it."

"Thanks, man," Brent said.

"You are very welcome."

I set the donuts on the table so they can all get one.

"Well, I'm going to go in here and open the shop. Please for the love of god, run the shop in peace?"
