(Devyn)

Xander was getting dressed and ready for work as I laid in bed watching him.

I didn't want him to leave yet but he's still getting dressed.

He caught my stare and frowned, "What's wrong?"

"I don't want you to leave."

He looked upset as well, "I know, Baby. I know. Trust me. It sucks that I hate leaving you alone with Eli."

"I wish you could stay. You've been working nonstop since we came home with Eli."

I wasn't wrong. He's been working 9 hour shifts all throughout the week without getting days off.

It's paying off but it's not the greatest because he's gone during the day. I barely get to see him much anymore because of work.

I exhaled and he sat next to me on the bed kissing my lips softly.

"I'm sorry, Baby girl."

I frowned as well and tears streamed down my cheeks, "Call me on your breaks?"

"Always, princess."

We kissed one more time and he left for work.

(Xander)

As I headed to work with Dad, he picked me up so Dev had my car, I thought back to our conversation this morning.

Devyn isn't wrong.

She's got the puzzle in one picture. Picture perfect too.

I haven't been home much, I wake up at 4:30am work all the way until 2:30. Sometimes longer. I get home, eat lunch or dinner. Shower up, take care of Eli and then to bed I go.

"What's on your mind, Son?"

I looked over at my dad he looked at me concerned.

"Everything. I mean Eli is great. I thought he was going to be like Amber when she was a baby. Crying all night long keeping you and Mom awake."

I looked out of the window, "Dev and I haven't had much time to ourselves. I don't mind it but at the same time, I do."

"Why don't I take Eli this weekend. Your mother could use some good serotonin right now."

"Wait, you'll do that?"

"Yea. Why not. I have Maddie too."

"Don't tell Zed. He was supposed to be the first to babysit him."

He chuckled, "Lips are sealed."

We pulled into the parking lot and I got out heading inside the shop.

....

The next day rolled around and ass promised, my father took Eli for the weekend.

Any other time Eli is in someone else's arms but mine or Devyn's, he screams or cries.

But with my Pops, he's a sweet Angel.

"Now that's bullshit."

"I'm a baby whisper. Don't call me, don't message me, don't ask how Eli is. We did this three times already."

I rolled my eyes and gave him Elijah's bag to him. Devyn and I kissed Eli goodbye and they leave.

"So? What should we do?"

Devyn smirked, "I don't know. It's over a month now. I miss us time."

"Okay. How about we get things done around the apartment. Maybe go out for lunch. Go to a beach? Whatever you want to do."
