(Devyn)
A week flew by and I still haven't heard from Xander.I can't get Jax or Hero to talk to me.
Xander hasn't shown up to school either.
....
I sat in class and his chair was empty."Okay, class. Here are some morning announcements."
"We have our first fundraiser of the year. They would like for every senior to partner up with a group of at least two or more people and come up with a stand to raise money for this year's Project Graduation. You will have a week to come up with an idea and prep. Because starting Monday of that week, you seniors will be having senior week."
Mr.Daniel was going through the morning announcements and I heard someone sitting next to me.
"Hey."
I turned to see who it was, hoping it was Xander.
"Ethan?"
I rolled my eyes, "Get away from me," I whispered.
"You haven't heard from Xander?"
"Why do you care?"
The classroom door opened and Xander walked in giving the teacher a slip of paper.
He shot a glare over and Ethan saw.
Ethan laid his arm around me.
The feeling was familiar and a tingling sensation shot through my body and I shrugged him off.
All I can think of is danger, the urge to scream and cry when his hand touches my shoulder.
"I said stay away from me, asshole."
"Your loss."
I rolled my eyes and he moved back to his seat.
Tears began to roll down my cheeks because I felt relief after seeing Xander.
But I was also furious.
The bell finally rang and I stood up from my chair, gathering my books into my bag and I walked out of the room.
"Hey, bae."
"Hey."
I sniffled and I wiped my cheeks.
Emery saw that I was crying and shoved me into the nearest bathroom.
"Hey?"
"Ethan. He's just...ever since Xander quit talking to me, Ethan is trying to thread his way back. He touched me and I was scared."
She hugged me tightly and I just cried.
"Okay, let's get through today. If you can't, go home."
"Plan on it."
We had at least 3 minutes left and we left the bathroom heading to our lockers.
I swapped some books out and I felt a warm presence behind me.
"Xander, what do you want?"
"To talk to Dev, please?"
Emery looked at me and I shook my head.
The bell saved the moment when it rang loudly and I slammed my locker shut.
"Dev?"
....
Finally it was lunch time.Emery and I sat at a table alone and she had her notebook out writing.
"So, fundraiser. We're partnering, right?"
