17 weeks...
(Xander)
I jolted awake raising up.My eyes followed the room and I looked over finding Devyn asleep peacefully.
I exhaled feeling relieved.
I laid my head on my pillow again staring at the ceiling fan as it spun in rotation.
This withdrawal has been awful. I'm constantly sick and puking. I probably lost weight like crazy in the last two weeks.
"Babe?"
I tried to wake Dev so she didn't think I ran off.
"Baby?"
She turned over to face me and opened her eyes looking up.
"Hey."
Devyn's smile grew and she grabbed my blankets to cover up.
"What's wrong," she asked with worry.
"I can't sleep."
She reached for my face pulling me closer where her lips met mine. We kissed softly and I pulled her closer to me.
"I hate that it's tough right now. School is insane, trying to get people to trust me again. Ethan may be dead but he ruined my life. My sobriety is even gone."
My head rested against her chest and she ran her nails through my long black hair.
"What if we had an us day?"
"A what?"
She paused and looked at me, "A day for just us. It's the weekend."
"It's Friday. School starts in a couple of hours."
"Yea, well, we have an appointment today in a couple of hours."
"How about after?"
"Wait, really?"
"Yes. We'll sign out. Go to your appointment."
....
"How are you feeling?"
"I see why you hate that question now," I say looking at Devyn.
She nodded.
Every stare in the hall was just piercing me in the back of my skull. I hated every bit of the feeling but I was so thankful.
Devyn leaned into me and I ran my fingers through her hair before kissing her lips.
"I love you."
"I love you."
Emery looked at me with disgust, Dev too.
"What now?"
"I just...this is happening. I never thought this would happen. D, tell me I'm crazy."
Hannah and Jax were standing next to us and Hero was eye googling Emery.
"You're crazy."
I added, "It's been two weeks. You're still in shock?"
"Yes," Emery pleaded.
"Who goes from being completely brainwashed to you again?"
"Someone believed in me. You three just dropped me like I was nothing."
Jax looked at me upset, "I never dropped you like you were nothing, dude. I just believed you were gone for good. Devyn is your main reason for even being back."
"Hey. Me too, dipshit."
"Stop. Both of you."
The bell rang and Devyn and I headed to class together for first period.
