(Xander)
It was pitch black when I got off of work. I was very tired and exhausted from today.

I looked at my dash to check the time, it was almost 9pm.

My cigarette was between my lips as I hit on it a few times. The smoke escaped my mouth and out of the window.

My phone started ringing.

"Hey, Baby girl."

"Hey, handsome. Are you on your way home yet?"

I was at a redlight, only 30 minutes away from home. I hit on my cigarette a few more times exhaling the smoke through my lips.

"Yea. I just got off. About 25 minutes away now. That's if this traffic goes."

"I hate that you've been working late."

"I know. It's just so busy at work. Ever since I came back, it's been nothing but busy. We've had more customers. My new position requires twice as much work. I do more

I took a deep breath, "I would rather be there with you."

"Do you want to FaceTime?"

I smiled, "I love you, Beautiful."

"I love you more."

She hung up until a few moments later, she FaceTimes me.

....

It's been ten minutes and I've only moved a little bit.

"Still in traffic?"

"Yea. Not sure why."

I laid my head back looking at my phone and Devyn was laying in her bed watching a movie.

"What are you watching?"

"The Little Mermaid."

I smiled watching as she sat up, revealing the strawberries she was popping into her mouth.

My eyes gazed at her as she had her eyes fixated on the movie.

Her hair was fixed into a messy bun while wearing my flannel.

"Are you wearing my flannel?"

"Mhm. Your boxers too. They're comfy. It also doesn't hurt my belly."

She showed me her belly that was slowly growing and my smile just grew, "Is it just me or is that like sexiest thing I've ever seen."

"My belly?"

"All of you. I seriously cannot wait for you to have our baby."

The traffic was still backed up and I noticed police lights shining through.

"Me too, I'm excited, anxious and thrilled all at the same time."

"There must be a wreck up here. I'm still in the same position from when we first called."

"Ten minutes ago?"

I nodded.

Traffic slowly began moving again and it started to pick up again.

"Finally."

I drive in the dark still talking to Devyn.

"I should be home in 20 minutes now. I cannot wait to get home and cuddle."

I checked both ends of the turn to make sure I don't hit a car when I go into oncoming traffic.

"Well, I'm waiting. Are you staying the night again?"

"Yea. I didn't last night. I planned on it. Dad's taking Mom out of town for the weekend. Take her mind off of treatment."

I talked to Devyn the whole way home, well, most of the way. She fell asleep while watching her movie along while on the phone.
