(Devyn)
"How's Dev?"

I heard my mother's voice echo from the living room.

"She's uh...coping."

"Can I see her?"

My mom turned her head and a single tear drop fell from my eye, shaking my head.

"She doesn't want any visitors."

"Can you tell her to text me? That I miss her?"

"Of course, sweetie."

Xander's voice broke and I got up from the couch, going upstairs to my room and I slammed the door shut.

I climbed into my bed and my eyes watered while my heart felt heavy in my chest like it could sink me to the bottom of the ocean.

My eyes closed.

Everything around me was quiet, silence.

(Xander)
Devyn stayed away from everyone. It's been weeks since the whole accident.

She hasn't been to school.

We were sitting in the lunchroom and I looked next to me and her chair was empty. I shook my head.

"Are you okay?"

"Devyn. I know everything traumatized her but I'm worried about her. I haven't talked to her since. I go to her house and her mom tells me she's fine. But I know her. She's not fine. I need to be there for her."

Emery grabbed my wrist, "She's strong. She's been through a lot. Give her time."

I pulled my arm away.

"Well, Maria said she's not failing at least. Mrs.Auburn has been sending her all kinds of class work so she wouldn't fall behind. She can come to school when she's ready."

"I just miss having her in my arms. It's like we broke up."

"Don't think about it that way," Jax says.

"Yea. Exactly. After school, why don't you get her some of her favorite things and surprise her with a mini date. Maria won't be able to send you away."

"Okay. I can try that."

(Devyn)
I finished with my school work and I turned everything in online. I put my books away in my bag and I laid them on my desk.

"Hey, Sis."

"Hey."

Zed walked in and closed my door.

"How are you feeling?"

"Tired. I'm probably gonna go to bed soon."

He looked at me and I sat in my bed covering up, "Xander wants to see you."

"Tell him I'll text him. I'm not in the mood."

"Sis."

"Zed. I'm serious."

I heard a knock and the door opened.

"Zed!?"

He ran out and Xander walked in my room, "Hey."

"Hey."

I laid on my pillow and I looked at him, "I brought your favorite."

He had chocolate covered strawberries and movies.

"Dev, I...I'm worried about you. I've missed you."

"I missed you too."

He shook his head, "Babe?"
