7 weeks...

(Xander)
It's been 2 weeks since finding out about my mother's cancer.

Devyn however wasn't too pleased with my actions, neither were my parents.

I looked in the drawer of my bedside table grabbing out the promise ring I had gotten for Dev.

"Are you finally giving it to her?"

"I thought it would be the perfect way."

I checked the time on my phone and it was 5:30pm.

I slipped the velvet box in my pocket and I had my keys, wallet along with my phone.

"Good luck, buddy."

"Thanks, Pops."

I ran my fingers through my styled hair and headed out of the door.

....

(Devyn)
"Mom!"

"Yes, sweetie?"

"I can't find my hairdryer."

I was freaking out because I'm supposed to be ready by now but I haven't even gotten dressed yet.

I ran downstairs to find my hairdryer and it was nowhere to be found.

"Sweetheart, what's the rush?"

I paused and I saw my hairdryer laying on the coffee table.

"Xander is taking me out even though it's his birthday and I was supposed to be ready 10 minutes ago."

"Need help?"

"Please? I don't even have an outfit picked out."

"Well, what's the date?"

I exhaled, "He said to dress comfortably."

She looked at me confused and I chuckled a little, "His exact words are dress comfortably as your date awaits a walk in the park."

"He's taking you to a park?"

"I guess the skate park."

She smiled, "Wear comfortable clothes, Silly. And something that you will know won't bother. You're pregnant now, so wear whatever you feel will help you."

I finally dried my hair letting my natural curls fall through which were beautiful.

I felt beautiful.

My outfit was comfy of course so I was wearing black leggings with a tank top and my red plaid flannel.

I looked in the mirror at my belly and I wasn't showing yet.

Regardless, little one, you're apart of our lives and I can't wait to meet you.

....

"She was freaking out thinking you would be upset for running behind."

I heard soft laughs and quiet conversation between a deep voice along with my mothers.

My Converse laid by the front door so I headed towards the stairs to get them.

Xander's emerald eyes caught my white ones and I smiled, "Hey, Princess."

"Hi."

He pulled me in for a warming bear hug and a peck on my forehead.

His fingers ran across my growing belly and he was smiling ear to ear.

"Let's go. I have the whole evening planned."
