(Xander)
"Anything?"

"No. Whatever number this is, it has major malware. It's hard to track it with all the bugs and spams."

I exhaled and I was trying my best to stay calm.

"So what do we do from here?"

"I thought this was our only chance. To track it."

Emery spoke up, "What if Ethan is doing it to mess with you? I mean he has before."

"He never gets rid of his old tricks," Hero adds.

I crossed my arms rubbing my chin, "He isn't afraid to use new ones either."

Jax was sitting at his computer downstairs in the basement.

"Who knew your dumbass would be this smart."

"Hey?!"

I shook my head at Hero's comment, "Will you two please shut up."

"Yea."

Hero left the basement.

It's been a very long couple of weeks and Devyn was still missing.

I haven't had any sleep in those weeks. I don't sleep at all.

Jax was looking up at me and I was yawning quite a lot.

"Dude you should get home and sleep."

I glared at him.

"What? Okay, yes. Devyn needs to be saved. We are in square one right now. Tomorrow might be different."

"Fine. I'll go home."

"I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yea."

I grabbed my phone and my keys and went upstairs.

"Are you leaving?"

I looked up from my phone and Hero was sitting with Emery who was crying, "Yea. See you tomorrow."

....

"Xander?"

I was spacing out and I snapped back to reality, "Uh hey."

My mom walked to my car where I was parked, "Are you going to come inside? It's kind of chilly out."

Tears fell down my cheeks and I was angry.

My hands gripped the steering wheel and I beat on it, taking my anger out.

"Baby? Come inside."

"It hurts, mom. She's gone. She made me happy. She is my everything and that stupid son of a bitch took my happiness away."

She opened my door and hugged me.

I finally get out, going inside with her and she sits me on the couch.

She sits next to me and I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that Devyn was gone.

"Let it all out, sweetie. It's okay to be angry and upset. Trust me. I understand it has to be hurting you."

"I don't even know where to look to find her. She's probably dead. Gone for good."

Her cold hand rested against my cheek and wiped my tears away, "Go take a shower and then we'll watch a movie or something together. Okay?"

"Can I just lay here?"

I took my hoodie off and my mom smiled slightly letting me lay in her lap like I used to when I was younger.
