(Xander)

I was slowly waking up from my deep sleep from the sounds of an angelic voice.

A familiar voice at that.

The uncomfortable movements, constant tossing and turning kept me awake.

I turned on my other side facing the door and I was exhausted.

The sound was muffled and so quiet that I couldn't make out the sentence.

"No!"

My eyes shot open and Devyn was panting.

She slowly raised up and stormed out of the bedroom.

I heard her crying, upset.

Devyn came back rushing trying to find something in the drawer of her nightstand.

"Baby? Talk to me? What are you looking for?"

She doesn't answer.

After searching for what she was finding, she grabbed my flannel, putting it on, she buttoned a few of the buttons and left the room again.

I quickly grabbed my boxer briefs, putting them on, going after her.

Soon, I found her smoking a cigarette on the balcony.

She was shaking and trembling.

Tears rolled down her cheeks and I could see that she was dying to just give up. Letting that cigarette keep her from doing so.

"Dev?"

She wiped her cheeks and I had tears lining my eyes, "Baby? Please?"

"My....nightmares. They've gotten....worse."

Her breathing was hitched and she was taking deep breaths.

"Just everything about...the night. From Ethan hurting me. The....pain....Xander, it's.....horrible."

She allowed me to lay my arms around her, holding her close to me.

Our foreheads meet and I kiss her forehead from time to time.

"Shh. Breathe for me, Baby. Just breathe. Relax."

My fingers brushed through her tangled hair.

The cigarette was now gone and she left the remaining of it in the ashtray.

I decided to carry her inside and laid her in our bed.

"What's going through that beautiful mind of yours?"

She rested her hands over her chest trying to remain calm.

"I just wish my nightmares would vanish. I wish to sleep and not wake you up."

"How many times have I told you it doesn't bother me?"

"I wish you wouldn't. It makes me feel bad."

Tears filled her eyes and I wiped her cheeks holding her in my arms.

"Let it out, Baby girl."

....

I rolled over looking at Devyn. She looked at me with a smile, "Good morning, beautiful."

"Good morning, handsome."

I was laying on my stomach with my arms under my chin as I laid on them staring into her beautiful god given eyes.

"You're the most gorgeous being on this planet. Besides the being we made."

She giggled causing me to smile and she scooted closer towards me.
