I couldn't think straight today.
Well, I couldn't think straight since yesterday when my best friend told me that I was jealous of the flirting he does with the other girls – which I was totally not. Why would I even be jealous of that?
I was so sure that it was nothing that was called jealousy that was the reason for my anger, but somewhere deep down something was bothering me. Though my heart was heavy, asking me to think about something very important so that I can clear a certain things, I refused to do it. I am so not going to think about anything and complicate things between Luke and me. When I think, I always tend to over think and over thinking is never a good idea for me.
What was wrong with Luke though for suggesting something like that? I was not jealous for crying out loud! Why on Earth would he suggest something like that? Wait, was he sober or was he drunk when he suggested that?
Oh, well, he was definitely sober.
"What are you thinking about?"
My head snapped up to meet with River's and I watched with a smile as he took a seat opposite to me in the table. I was unusually the first to wake up today. Since I didn't want to disturb Kade and Kyra who I was rooming with, I had gotten ready as silently as I could and came down to the restaurant of the hotel we were staying at. I was early. Too early. And I hadn't expected for anyone to join me.
"Just this and that," I shrugged, placing the cup of coffee that was in my hands on the table.
Since we were here as the Carters' guests, we were offered free rooms – no, not rooms, they were suites actually and all the other services here were also free to us. To say that Augusta was pleased to hear that we were staying in a luxury Hotel owned by the Carters in the top most floor as one of their priority guests, would be the understatement of the year. She was so happy we got to experience this.
"Must be something important," he pressed, raising an eyebrow at me, "You had your thinking face on."
"My thinking face?" I let out a short laugh, before raising an eyebrow at him in question.
"It is the face where you pull your eyebrows together and plaster a permanent frown to your face. You kind of look very serious with that 'I – am – thinking – stay – away – from – me' face," River chuckled, shaking his head before calling for a waiter.
"I do?" I inquired, curious to know the truth.
"You do," he nodded, before turning to the waiter who had just arrived, "A latte, please."
The waiter who had previously served me too, nodded, scribbling something over in his notepad before looking back up, "Anything else, sir?"
River shook his head, "I have not made up my mind yet, do you mind giving me five more minutes before I can order breakfast?"
"Of course not," the waiter, whose name according to his nametag is Collin, smiled at River warmly, "I will bring you your coffee and then you can order."
"That would be great, thanks," River grinned.
Collin smiled at him, before he turned to me with the same smile, "Your pancakes are getting ready, mam. Would you mind something else?"
"No," I smiled at him and shook my head, "Just bring both our breakfasts together."
"Sure," he nodded and then retreated back to wherever he had to be.
"He was so into you!" River exclaimed in a whisper as soon as Collin was out of earshot, "Wow, girl! He was looking at you like he was planning your wedding together."
