A week passed after that day and I am happy to say that everything was normal between me and Luke. Everyone had been so happy to see us returning back to the cafeteria that day, laughing and giggling with each other. We had made up and declared that our friendship was more important than anything else in this world, so the past week's fight that we had, had seemed to be more childish, if not something stupid – we had laughed at our own stupidity.

While my other friends – though they didn't know what had happened between me and Luke – were happy that we had finally made up and put everything behind us, River was the only one who was smug and cocky about it. He claimed that we made up only because of him – which I would never deny. He did keep pushing me to talk to Luke.

But he didn't have to be so cocky about that.

There has been a mild change in River's character over the past week. That was a surprise. A good type of surprise, really. He was much more confident now and his dressing had also changed a little bit. What shocked me was the tiny bit of confidence that he has gained. I think Tristan was training him a little on that. Not a shocker there. Tristan was the most confident male in our school population, after Reece left that is.

Kyra was the only one who did not ask me any questions on what had been wrong with me and Luke. Everyone else was more curious about it and kept on questioning either me or Luke. We would just smile at each other and remain silent, not wanting to share anything about that stupid fight to anyone.

They stopped pestering me once after Tristan snapped at them and told them to leave us alone. He said if Luke and I wanted to tell them what had happened, we will do that on our own. I had to blink and pinch my arm in order to convince myself that I was not sleeping and this was not a dream.

Can you blame me? A reality in which Tristan spoke like a grownup was not possible – well, at least till that day it was not possible.

Alright, so coming to the present, today was the day of the much awaited Championship of the year – THE WOLFS' CHAMPIONSHIP.

It was at last, the day that decided who the best soccer team among us all was. The championship was going to be held as usual in Crest High School as they are the ones that are hosting the championship in the first place. Our school was declared a holiday today so that all of us can go over to the Crest High School and watched the most important match of the day. Today was the match that was considered as the breaker of the game. This match decided who was going to win the championship this year – Crest High School, Carmen Point High School or City Lights High School – our school.

Crest High School was only a forty-minute drive from where we stayed and was by far one of the most decent schools I have ever heard about. That is when you don't consider them picking a fight with our soccer team just for the heck of it.

The City Lights High School and the Crest High School have always had this hatred going on between them even before we were all in High School. My brother, Aaron had once told me that it was something that has been going on for generations between the two schools – the hating each other with a passion for no reason at all thing.

Whatever. It's not like they are creating some trouble for me, so I did not bother about it.

Our coach has been pretty frustrated all morning, yelling at the boys to not lose the championship this year, because it was something that would matter a lot to all our pride if we lost this championship – again.

The boys were all tensed as they sat on the bleachers, trying to prepare themselves mentally for the game that was going to start. Stiff was the perfect word that could be used to describe their entire posture. I shook my head at them in pity.
