It might seem crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take away
I'm a hot air balloon, I could go to space
With the air, like I don't care baby by the way
I nodded along with the music as 'Happy' by Pharrell Williams boomed loudly throughout the entire house. Well, what can I say? I loved the song and not to mention no one can stand in a place and not even nod when this particular song is being played.
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do –
"You are so not going to drink this!" The red cup was snatched off my hand by a livid looking Kyra who immediately passed the cup to one of the passing fellow party goers and scowled at me.
I blinked at her in confusion. "Um," I frowned, giving her an 'Are you crazy?' look, "That was coke."
"Oh," she frowned, her scowl softening as she let my words into her mind and digested them, "Sorry. I thought it was alcohol and you are our designated driver."
"Are you drunk?" I raised an eyebrow at her, but when she remained clueless still, I continued, "You know that I hate alcohol. I would never drink. Don't worry, Kyra. Go have fun. Go disappear."
"Okay," she exhaled a deep breath, before jumping into the crowd and vanishing off into the huge crowd of people drinking and grinding on one another.
Oh, well, when I said disappear, I didn't mean it in the literal sense. But, whatever.
It was the after party that is always conducted after the championship match every year. But there was a difference this year though. This year we had won the Championship for the first time in history. Our coach was so happy that he started to run through the field shouting, while stripping off his clothes. I looked away before I could see something that traumatized me.
It was a close match actually. The points were neck to neck when we had won against the Christ High School, but we had somehow managed the win and to say that everyone were celebrating by partying hard will be the lightest way of putting it.
The party was being held in the outskirts of the city, not even remotely closer to our houses in the house of a Year 12, Allison Percy. The only reason that I was here now, standing among the other party freaks was because Kade had told me that Allison only throws a party once every year and to miss it was like missing something huge in your high school life. We had to literally beg Augusta to let us all go. She was hesitant at first, but then when Luke promised to take good care of us all, she had immediately let us all go – he was a charmer, I tell you.
"Hey, loner," Luke said as he walked over to stand beside me, appearing out of nowhere, "How is this party going for you?"
I gave him bored look and let out a sigh, "Just peachy."
Translation: Boring as ever.
Luke chuckled, pointing at Kyra who was dancing with some hot looking boy, "Good thing, she took that cup away from you," he turned to look at me with a warm smile, "I just heard that the cokes were spiked as well as the waters here. Drink nothing."
