I shoved my sweater into my suitcase and groaned, my back already aching with all the packing and running around I have been doing. I only had a few hours before I have to leave to the airport and I still had a lot of packing to do. Can you imagine how serious my position was? No? Then you don't have humanity and sympathy... and imagination.
Today was the day that we all flew to New Zealand for attending my brother's graduation ceremony, which was going to be held tomorrow. All my brothers were taking in separate flights down to New Zealand, because we know for a fact that we all live in different parts of the world, so meeting up and taking out a common flight to New Zealand together would cause us a lot of confusion.
I was really excited about this trip because it has been a long time since I saw my brothers. Of course, I saw Ethan and Aaron in between and talked to all of them on phone very often, but that was nothing compared to seeing all my brothers together at the same time, and that too after almost two years.
I rolled my eyes at the voice continually speaking through the phone in my hand and held it between my shoulder and my ear as I let out a huff, "For the last time, David!" I groaned as the pile of clothes that I had in my hand fell down and I bent down to pick it up while scolding my brother, "I have everything set. My ticket is safe with Luke, my bags are all almost packed. I even said my early goodbye to Kade, Kyra, Augusta and Zack, if in case I couldn't find them before boarding the flight. I am all set."
"Okay, okay, I was just making sure," my brother let out a sigh, "I am just worried, because this is the first time that you will be traveling in a flight all by yourself."
I rolled my eyes at my brother's worry, "You seem to have forgotten that Luke is also traveling with me."
My brother snorted, "You seem to have forgotten that Luke is also just a kid."
Luke was also traveling with us to New Zealand to attend Aaron's graduation ceremony and join our trip to Andrew's house. It was, as you can already guess, my idea. Since Katie was not home – she had gone to her mom's place in New York to fetch her, because she was going to be living with them from now on – and Luke would be home alone all summer, I thought that it would be a good idea for him to come with me to my brother's graduation.
Of course, Luke immediately agreed to the idea, because I, as well as, everyone here know just how much he idolized Aaron. Missing his graduation would be the last thing that he would want to do.
"Right," I sighed, grumpy that my brother was still seeing me and Luke as kids when in reality we are going to be in Year 12 of High School soon, "Stop worrying, Dave. We will be alright."
"Fine," he sighed, "Don't forget I will be waiting for you just outside the airport."
I zipped my suitcase and let out a tired huff, "How can I even forget that?"
My brothers already have everything set for our trip to New Zealand. They have organized their flights in such a way that everyone will be there before I got there. They have already booked the hotel rooms for our stay there and they have arranged us some vehicles for transportation. I heard that there was even a restaurant they have booked a table for us to eat our dinner when we got there.
"Alright, smartypants," he chuckled, his tone light, "You didn't let out any clues to Aaron, by any chance, did you?"
"How will I?" I retorted, rolling my eyes at his question, "I am not that dumb."
Aaron had individually called all of us and had asked if we could attend his graduation. Thankfully though, we had all decided beforehand to turn down his offer and then appear in his school out of the blue, that way he would be very surprised. So, we had all came up with a reason to turn his offer down and crush his hopes.
