Today is the day. The last day of my Year 11 in High School and to say that today was very eventful will be the understatement of the year.
The day had begun much like any other day that had passed in my High School. I had just like always woken up late and gotten ready to school in a hurry. While I was at it, I think I gave Luke a show because I had forgotten to close my room's window. But then again, I may not have; when I went to close the window after taking notice of it being open, his room was already empty.
I pulled my sweater down before running down the stairs to see Augusta feeding Zack while Kade and Kyra stuffed their faces with sausages. Rolling my eyes at Kade who gave me a look for waking up late again, I kissed Zack's cheek, ignoring his whines before serving myself my breakfast.
"You woke up late again?" Augusta smiled at me, her perfect eyebrows raised.
I shrugged, copying Kyra and Kade, stuffing a sausage into my mouth, "I slept late."
"Was that Luke's voice I heard in your room yesterday night?" Kyra asked innocently, fluttering her eyelashes at me while Kade looked like he was chocking back on his laughter.
I narrowed my eyes at her, "Yes, it was Luke," I stuffed another piece of the sausage into my mouth and glared at her suggestive smirk, "We were studying together."
"All our tests are done," Kyra smirked.
"Not for a test."
"Sure," Kade drawled, snorting as if what I just said was the funniest statement ever.
Augusta chuckled, shaking her head at the three of us, "Okay that's enough. Leave her alone. If she says that they are just friends, they are just that. Stop torturing the poor girl."
I pouted playfully, "Yeah, stop torturing the poor girl."
Kade and Kyra just rolled their eyes at me as they continued eating their breakfasts. After finishing off my breakfast, I cleaned the plate before heading out of the door, shouting a farewell to Augusta and Zack. Nonetheless only Augusta replied back.
I walked over to Luke's house and went inside without even knocking it. There were a lot of noises that was heard from up the stairs and I know already without anyone even telling me that Luke was just getting ready. I rolled my eyes at that and walked over to the kitchen to see Katie dancing around the kitchen preparing something.
"Hey, Katie," I smiled as she squealed and turned around clutching her chest. I tried to not burst out laughing at her startled expression. I didn't plan on startling her, but now that I saw her reaction I think I am going to do this more often.
"Don't ever do that to me again," She muttered, giving me a look before chuckling a little too.
"Well-"
"What happened?" Luke's voice was panicked as he ran down the stairs to the kitchen only to let out a breath of relief when he saw that it was just me who had startled his mom.
"Nothing," Katie waved her hand, turning back to stir something, "She just caught me off guard."
"Oh," Luke nodded.
But all these times that they were talking, I couldn't speak. My mouth was arrested, my mind a jumble. I gulped, trying to peel my eyes off his sculpted chest – yes, he was shirtless – but to no avail.
It is not like this was the first time I have seen him shirtless, but somehow these days even the slightest thing about him that had not bothered me before, bothers me. And him being shirtless before me tops that list.
