Bat-Family Oneshots

Den Mother:Nightwing Pt.1

Red Robin's POV
I was at the mountain with my team, sitting round the living room while we waited for the new den mother. The rest of the team believe none of us needed a den mother they believe that we are old enough to look after ourselves but the league insist on it. Not that I really blame them really, I mean last week Wally and M'gann managed to light the kitchen on fire, thank God I'm paranoid and replaced the fire extinguishers the day before.

Anyway I asked batman who the new den mother was and he told me it wasn't a member of the league but a person he trusted. He actually trusts them, who can it be cause he trusts no body but the bat clan and I know for a fact none of my brothers would show up here with out some seriouse blackmail or bribes but even then I seriously doubt it.

That and jay is busy hes on a mission in Singapor and he hates the baby league as he calls us, Damian is to young to be den mother and Dick is busy in heaven and with WE meetings.

So who could it be, who else does the bat trust? He hardly trusts the league and he works with them, who could he possibly trust outside of the league?

Don't think I didn't try to hack into the Bat computer but it looks like Dick upgrades the systems and hasn't had time show me the back door.

1 hour later

"When do the get here its been ages" Wally moaned from where he was laying on the floor. I sigh here we go again. I switch off my holo computer and look at him. "Shut up bay watch" Artemis snapped at him. I smirk at him "don't worry KF I'm sure they'll be here soon" he just sighed.

All of a sudden we heard then zeta tube start up but no name was announced. We all quickly get up and move to the entrance hall. Just as we get there a figure materialised and i instantly recognise him. NIGHTWING to say im shocked is an understatement because i know how busy he has been.

His face is blank and he walks with his usual air of confidence and leadership but i notice how tried  he is.

Artemis being her usual mouthy self places her hands on her hips "who are you?" I snort quietly as i notice his lips quirk into a slight smile and he imatates her pose. "I'm Nightwing, your Den mother for the week" before she can say anything M'gann says quietly "I'm sorry but i have never heard of you" conner and Aqualad nod at her statements and i also notice Wally vibrating on the spot. Suddently he shouts "how do you not know who he is? He was the first protege, the bats protege. The first Robin. He made the Titans, he is the ghost hero of Buldheaven a city with worse crime rates then Gotham for god sake. He is the person that made me want to join the hero bussiness. He is great." I can't help but fall over laughing at the slightly scared look on my brothers face and how we all just found out that the great kidflash was a secret fangirl.

"Um...right thanks for that totally asterus introduction kidflash" both nightwing and i noticed the looks we were getting from artemis and  finally she said "You two are brothers aren't you?"

I raise qn eyebrow at the shocked faces of everyone "well obviously, you of all people wally should know that after all you did just say he was the first Robin " they nod In slight understanding "so what that makes you Robin number two?" Conner asks gruffly.

I shake my head "No I'm number three, nightwing being the first, out other brother being the 2nd and the youngest is the 4th." They all gasp "you have brothers? Wait how can there be a fourth if your still Robin?" M'gann asks

Nightwing answers for me "the 4th doesn't want to be in the team but red does, so when we work as the bat clan your Robin becomes Red Robin and the youngest is the Robin"
Looking offended Artemis says angrily " why doesnt he wanna join  our team?" Wing smirks "he doesn't  play nice with other people and to be honest none of us bat kids would one here willingly, well except Red"

I jump  "talk about willingly, how'd he get you here?" Nightwings smirk doesn't faulter "he threatened to bench me" i glare at him "Alright you got me, he threatened to bench me when that didn't work he promised that he'd upgrade my sticks, got 300 bucks amd a month brocation" i laugh.

"Right im gonna go get changed to civis the  ill order pizza" the team nod and walk off. I walk with my brother down to his old room near where the leaguers rooms are.

When we get inside we both peel out masks off and i say "whos looking after haven?" He changes his top before he answers "jays gonna do it" i raise an eyebrow "i thought he was still in Singapore"

"Nah he got home an hour before i got here." I nod "is that why you were late" he laughs "yup, i was patching up Jay"
